That's byoo-tee-ful! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMFpHaXJRQQ, ~9:41)

For younger BYONDers, that's a parody of an ABBA song, "Fernando": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ohr4P8E_io

I'm either proud or ashamed to say that I posted a single message to an ABBA Usenet group several years ago, and it was an attempt to relate ABBA to Lovecraft through the words "eternal lie."

Lovecraft: http://forum.rpg.net/archive/index.php/t-219931.html

ABBA:
Lyrics: http://www.metrolyrics.com/ should-i-laugh-or-cry-lyrics-abba.html
Audio: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKiZNRX3Y5I

They thought I was a troll. And, looking back, they were probably more right than I thought.

Apparently they are trying a more upbeat approach in campaign Cthulhu this year:

I wish someone would ask the difficult questions like how he feels we can improve relations with the Yithians or why Yog Sothoth is still on the loose.

I wouln't say it sank his career completely. He's running this year, ya know, and he still has the support of some cults 'n what not. We all know how big of an issue religion is for some people.

Lummox has a point. Cthulhu used "Why vote for the lesser evil?" and it sank his career. Not to mention the whole city of R'lyeh.

Actually, I understand Satan bowed out of politics because he didn't want his reputation dragged through the mud. That, and his campaign slogan of,"Why vote for the lesser of two evils?" didn't test so well.

Now THAT would make for a much more interesting election! We might even break 50% turnout.

I need to hear Satan's take on taxes levied on parts produced in one state but assembled in another, though, before I can be sure of my vote.

I dunno about that....

Gug, sorry if I didn't make it clear, I was being a bit silly myself. It should have been:
Yeah, God forbid a leader inspires anyone and they do something silly but essentially harmless. That instantly makes them Nazis. ;-P

And it is certainly far more disturbing than those religious nuts saying that Obama is the anti-Christ and that this is not an election but a war against the demonic hordes of Satan.... http://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=RQoV_Ngl-G8&feature=related

Yep, this song is reeeeeeallly tasteless when compared to the Johnny McCain hit, "Bomb Iran".

Yes! you too can hear songs about how we should bomb brown people for crude/retarded things that Ahmadinejad(Or Ahmajihadmedinaihad as Johnny likes to say). Who cares if Ahmadinejad isn't actually the leader of Iran? We should bomb them for looking at us funny.

I was only able to watch the opening few seconds myself. I recoiled in horror. Great frelling gads.

Okay, one comment. For months Republicans and people who are alert have been aghast at the messianic tone surrounding the Obama campaign. This video is a direct offshoot of that, and it oozes creepy. No wait--it flings creepy around the room like friggin' silly string.

Unfortunately, every comment I can think to make about the video is incredibly tasteless, so I think I'm agonna keep my mouth shut and let it speak for itself...
