How many BYONDers are women?

Poll: What gender are you?

Male 88% (72)
Female 11% (9)

More importantly I'm trying to decide if there are enough women on BYOND to warrant a female icon and female voice clips. If you know any, please direct them to this poll.

If you are a woman, please comment on how important it is for you to have a female icon to play as.

To be scared of being ridiculed or to be in "hiding" on the internet probably isn't the case. It's most likely a "who cares so why bring it up" thing.

I'm pretty sure girls are used to playing as guys just like I'm used to playing either a white person or black person. There's not too many Hispanic game characters. Remember I said not too many before you start throwing all this bs around.

Heh, strangely enough I'm having the OPPOSITE problem you are. I'm trying to figure out whether or not it's worth it to completely break the canon/storyline of a game series just to allow for male characters.

As for your question, I think it's definitely worth it to add a female voice/icon. Even if it's rarely used, it's still there.

You know how many people would possibly click female for the lulz of eet lol. But yeah good idea to make sure and to check see if they would play.

In Halo 3 you could set your gender to female and it would change your voice for when you got shot or died. There was no visual change though.

I don't think having another gender or specific skin color is essential to a good game, but it does make the experience more enjoyable for certain people.

You should provide information about your shooter along with a few pictures. You do not need to know if there are enough women on BYOND to warrant a female icon, but instead, how many women of BYOND would play the type of game you are making.
