Shinobi RPG's Interface
When Almighty Team started SRPG, we wanted to make the game in full screen but we abandoned that idea. Istead of full screen interface, Kacek - our graphic artist created regualr skin. In my eyes his interface is pretty good but I should ask you - players. What do you think about the interface?

PS. New interface has been made, it's much better ;]

MdNight, those eyes look that way because we haven't included eyebrows yet (with them and hairs an avatar looks a lot better, imo) I also think that you're fully right (MdNight and Zaole), so we will make another skin in days.. Thanks for your constructive critique, its really helpful ;)

I think you could have done way better. The whole interface is a whole mess.
Positive= I like the whole stats display with the base icon (Might want to fix the eyes on that head though)
Negative= Everything else. For starters, that kyuubi image is really pointless and it overpowers everything else. Was up with the tiny map? You could easily remove the pointless name on the top and strech the map a little more. I personally prefer a full screen with Huds on screen; but that is only my opinion. If you want an interface instead, why not try to look at some professional games for references.

Where is there arguing? I'm just attempting to provide constructive feedback. I'm sorry if I sound mean. :\

I don't understand this. Why not, for example, have a player's backpack be displayed in that dead space so they can see it at all times, instead of having to click the button to see it?
That long horizontal box at the bottom can only display one of your categories at a time; whenever of them is displayed, none of the others can be seen. That's not desirable. Nor is making them pop up on the map when clicked, though-- what you should do is utilize as much screen space as possible so players can see as much information as possible instead of constantly being limited to seeing one thing at a time.

I didn't read the replies. I just think background images suck.

Even if I move them to that dead space, players won't see more informations than before because they already see all the information without scrolling. There is no need to make more dead space in that box on the bottom.
Things that are too big for the box on the bottom (like skill tree) will be displayed on the map.

Something eye-appealing like the demon fox is still better than a big blot of black/red/whatever color just sitting there waiting to be used, but it might be a good idea to use it for something.

i don't see what limitations in the skin system could prevent you from increasing the size of the chat box, but that's not what i was suggesting anyways. move some of those tabs (just because you click on them doesn't mean they aren't tabs. if it reveals a different panel when clicked, it's a tab) into that dead space so players can see more information at once.
the entire point of having customizable interfaces is so players don't always have to use the sloppy, inconvenient tab system, not so you could repaint that tired system with a vibrantly distracting color.
why do you think it's good to leave empty spaces? can you show me any serious game in the world that has large pockets of empty UI space that show nothing at all except a background color or artwork?

I belive it is custom titlebar what you are talking about. Every no full-screen game on the BYOND have it.

Actually chat had to be longer with its bottom under that demon but due to skin's limitations it was made how it is now. We wait for byond staff to add more features to skins so we can upgrade our interface a little.
PS. I don't think we should use as many space as we can. It is good to leave some empty places. By the way those tabs in one of the section of the screen are buttons, not tabs.

it doesn't really make any sense and has a lot of dead space. why clutter up all that information into all those tabs in one section of the screen when there's tons of room in other areas of the screen going unused?
i don't think players need to be reminded every second what the name of the game they're playing is, nor do they need to see some random demon-thing artwork instead of actual game information.
point in case- don't have the artist create the actual design/layout of the interface. (i'm assuming that's the case here)

Looks good. I'd rather have the character information and skill shortcuts at top instead and the message input at bottom but it looks good anyway.
