The Objectives:

• Submission: This causes the game to end when all squares have been taken. The number of squares held by each player is counted. The player with the most squares under their control is the winner. A Submission objective with an empty layout can be played quite quickly.
• Conquest: This is like Submission except that the game doesnt end until one player is completely wiped out. The winner is the player who controls the whole board. A Conquest objective with the Minefield 2 layout can lead to a quick, fun game where luck can sometimes trump skill. When paired with an Empty or Random layout, a Conquest might take a while.
• Obliteration: Like Conquest, this mode ends when one player is wiped out. However, a special rule forbids players from placing pieces on empty squares. The Empty layout is unavailable. Players may instead wish to try the variations offered by the Random layout.
• Block Capture: A group of four labeled squares will be placed in the middle of the board. They can't have pieces on them and thus will not cause chain reactions. The first player to capture all four wins.
• Block Capture (2): In this Block Capture mode, the group of squares is placed in a random position.
• Singular Capture: This mode is like Block Capture, but the labeled squares are spread out on the map rather than grouped next to each other. One square will be in each corner.
• Singular Capture (2): In this Singular Capture mode, the positions of the labeled squares are random.
