Ok, so I've concluded how I'm going to handle this.
At any given stage of this project I'm going to post on here exactly what I need, from who, and by when.
If it reaches the end of the time frame and nobody has done the job or reported an interest in doing so, then I will just do it myself.
Obviously I'd like any help anyone is willing to offer, so on that note, cheers.

Here we go!

Stage 1
Time Until Completion: 3 Days (01/24/2010)
Objective: Find the best keywords worth targeting to maximize traffic with minimum effort.
Requires: Anyone willing to help. Optimally I'd like at least 3 people to submit me results. The more people the better.
Estimated Time Required: 20 minutes at most

This job is simply time consuming (but only slightly) and can be done by anyone.
https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal
The above website lets you research details on keywords, we will use this to get the information we need.

I'm looking for two pieces of information:
1: A list of the top 10 highest traffic keywords that are related to BYOND. This means trying keywords like 2D Game Maker, Make 2D Games, Make Multiplayer Games, and finding out which of them have the highest traffic numbers.
A few things to note:
There IS a difference between Make 2d games and make 2d game. Typically any change at all means google sees it as a separate keyphrase. Even changing the order of the same keywords is considered a different keyphrase and they will rank differently.

2: A list of the top 10 'optimal' keywords. This means keywords that meet a list of parameters that I am interested in.
These parameters are simple:
High traffic keywords with the lowest possible competition. If you feel like being elaborate you can also look at the CPC (cost per click) of the keywords, which will give you a bit more insight into people's interest.
There is no way to effectively balance high traffic vs low competition, it is up to you to decide how you want to weight importance.

A note on both lists: The important statistic to look at is global traffic numbers not local.

There is no need to include the traffic numbers in the report, as they can be quickly and easily retrieved. Simply a 10 word list will more than suffice. Just please be sure to label exactly what you are reporting.

Feel free to post your results here in this thread.
Again, as many people submitting as possible would be helpful.

Any questions feel free to ask, etc etc.
