Hello. I'm here to post a bit of an ad, but due to how quickly this should take anybody that applies, I'm refraining from posting it in the classified ads section.

Summary of the work:

- ~16 or so icons, all of them are very similar, using the same basic shape but with different letters(single character) and symbols on them

- Optional: Create an alternative set closer to a classical representation of the pieces, which will just about double the amount of icons

Due to all of the icons having the same shape, with just different characters and symbols(which are just straight line arrows), I would hope that whomever wants to help me on this will get it finished quickly, ~2 days perhaps(about when I'll finish programming, probably today or tomorrow, very simple game), if even.

It sounds really simple so much that I could do it myself, but honestly, I am possibly the worst at any type of graphical art ever made. I will expect at least some type of quality, so at least think make them somewhat attractive.

Example images of what the work should look like(more or less) will be provided after I accept you, if you don't want to do it after seeing them(it's all rather basic shapes, nothing difficult at all, unless you're me), then that's fine.

Either e-mail me or post a comment to the post with some type of contact information, and, optionally, example of previous work if you deem it necessary.

The only real thing I'm offering in return is credit for the artwork, I can't really offer much else. Sorry.

I hope I can find someone! It's really easy, trust me!

p.s: Don't laugh at my complete lack of graphical artistic ability :'(

Well, I finally gave into Squeegy's demands to play his game Faith(
he manages to spam his entire MSN list with it every so often). I expected more then I got, generally.

The starting area

Basically, I logged in and I was greeted with these messages:

Squeegy OOC: Hey
Squeegy OOC: Move off the goddamn starting square
Squeegy OOC: Waiting for 3 people
Squeegy OOC: 2*
Squeegy OOC: Ryder is a faggot and Chaos Black is a faggot
Squeegy OOC: They have 1 minute to join or they're both banned
Jeansfreak OOC: What?...
Jeansfreak OOC: Just because they maybe quit
Jeansfreak OOC: Or are they logged in
Squeegy OOC: No
Squeegy OOC: They are logged in and AFK
Squeegy OOC: faggots
Jeansfreak OOC: They could have logged in
Jeansfreak OOC: The last reboot
Squeegy OOC: Then they really have no excuse
Squeegy OOC: Because if they did they should be paying attenton
Gooseheaded OOC: :/
Squeegy OOC: one minute's up
Ryder910 has logged out.
Chaos Black has logged out.
Squeegy is the current God.

That alone left me with a bad impression for the rest of the session. When the game started all of the players were teleported from the starting area into a basic village, I guess, and we were left to do some clicking tasks. Gameplay was rather bland, and the god(whom was Squeegy) generally had most of the control the entire time. The villagers didn't really do much at all.

Soon, one of the players turned to Atheism. I also became atheist, mostly to test out what is different when becoming Atheist. A few moments later and we were both killed by a flying rock, apparently:

Villager (Athiest) ((1337 Agent Gearheart)) leaves a bloody splatter on the rock.
Villager (Follower of Squeegy) ((Gooseheaded)) says, "THat isnt fake."
Villager (Athiest) ((ANiChowy)) leaves a bloody splatter on the rock.

Then the other victim of the rock attack(caused by the god) complained over Out-Of-Character chat, and was promptly banned:

Villager (Athiest) ((1337 Agent Gearheart)) OOC: Why does this game suck?
Villager (Athiest) ((1337 Agent Gearheart)) OOC: I'll tell you why.
God ((Squeegy)) OOC: Because you're a faggot
Wolf has drowned in the water.
Villager (Athiest) ((1337 Agent Gearheart)) OOC: The icons and the gameplay.
God ((Squeegy)) OOC: TA-DA
Villager (Follower of Squeegy) ((Jeansfreak)) OOC: Gameplay is good
Villager (Athiest) ((1337 Agent Gearheart)) OOC: Squeegy, why is it you need to force and threaten people to play your game?
Villager (Follower of Squeegy) ((Jeansfreak)) OOC: Icons are good
God ((Squeegy)) OOC: waaaaah I got killed for being a faggot this game sucks /ragequit
Villager (Follower of Squeegy) ((Jeansfreak)) OOC: You have terrible reasoning
Villager (Athiest) ((1337 Agent Gearheart)) OOC: If your game was any good, they'd play of their free will.
God ((Squeegy)) OOC: 1337: I do not force or threaten people to play my game
Villager (Follower of Squeegy) ((Jeansfreak)) OOC: I am playing it at my free will
Villager (Athiest) ((1337 Agent Gearheart)) OOC: Squeegy, I'll have you know, I have yet to quit.
God ((Squeegy)) OOC: I merely annoy them
Villager (Follower of Squeegy) ((Gooseheaded)) OOC: same here.
God ((Squeegy)) OOC: You will quit in 3 seconds
God ((Squeegy)) OOC: Guaranteed
Villager (Athiest) ((1337 Agent Gearheart)) OOC: And, would you please allow me to continue criticizing your hideous game?
Villager (Athiest) ((1337 Agent Gearheart)) OOC: Your medals are disgusting.
Villager (Follower of Squeegy) ((Jeansfreak)) OOC: LOL
Villager (Athiest) ((1337 Agent Gearheart)) OOC: That's not something someone should be proud of.
1337 Agent Gearheart has logged out.
Villager (Follower of Squeegy) ((Jeansfreak)) OOC: Find a game better than this with medals
God ((Squeegy)) OOC: I banned him
God ((Squeegy)) OOC: Sticky ban
God ((Squeegy)) OOC: Forever

I was sort of upset about the general quality of the game past that point. The icons aren't exactly special, and the game play wasn't really exciting at all. I was resurrected by Squeegy after he killed me, though:

Host Squeegy resurrected ANiChowy.

That was nice of him. However, right after being revived I received a demand from him!

God ((Squeegy)) OOC: ANiChowy, hit Beliefs
God ((Squeegy)) OOC: Convert to me
Villager (Athiest) ((ANiChowy)) OOC: nah
Villager (Athiest) ((ANiChowy)) OOC: stop metagaming, that's not RP
God ((Squeegy)) OOC: okay then I'll just ban you
God ((Squeegy)) OOC: since I am the host and I made the game
God ((Squeegy)) OOC: or would you rather stay dead?
Villager (Athiest) ((ANiChowy)) OOC: what
Villager (Athiest) ((ANiChowy)) OOC: why?

I was trying to maintain my role-play here, even though it was OOC(He was using IC in OOC, so I decided I'd try to as well). Being an Atheist in game and all, I didn't suddenly want to give up that. Anyways, he threatened to ban me(?) for using an in-game feature(??). After asking why, he managed to kill me with a rock again(I was pretty powerless to fight back against him, by the way):

Villager (Athiest) ((ANiChowy)) leaves a bloody splatter on the rock.
God ((Squeegy)) OOC: fine with me
God ((Squeegy)) OOC: I resurrected you so you could learn the game but
God ((Squeegy)) OOC: If you want to be athiest go ahead and die

Naturally I questioned his logic:

Villager (Athiest) ((ANiChowy)) OOC: why is that feature in the game then?
Villager (Athiest) ((ANiChowy)) OOC: also more metagaming =/
God ((Squeegy)) OOC: okay you're just being a faggot then
God ((Squeegy)) OOC: bye!
Villager (Athiest) ((ANiChowy)) OOC: cya
Banned by host:
Access denied.
Connection failed.

And I was banned.

There's not much else to say, I didn't really enjoy the game play and the way Squeegy ran the server wasn't exactly comfortable. It's fine if he wants to run the server that way, of course, I'm only just reporting my opinion on the game.

Anyways, the idea of the game is pretty much the Black and White series except multiplayer. Playing as a villager even feels as though you're part of the Black and White AI, seeing as you can only do like, one thing, which is to build stuff that the god places down for you(like the AI villagers do in Black and White). I'm not sure what else there is to do, mostly because I got banned quickly. The idea isn't exactly new.

I don't know, I didn't enjoy it much.
Apparently, some magazine is giving out free CD-keys for Dark Messiah of Might & Magic. You can activate the keys in Steam and get the game for free rather quickly.

Instructions:
http://www.bgamer.pt/cdkey.ud121?oid=5956775

- Click the "regista-te" button
- Fill out the register stuff (You don't need a valid email)
- Click the green "continuar sem preencher" button
- Click the "clica aqui"
- Click that button that has CD-Key on it
- Copy that CD key
- Go to Steam games list and click activate a product on Steam
- Paste the CD key received when prompted

Enjoy!

Note: This offer has very low security, and you can actually get infinite keys if you want to.

Extra Note: Apparently the site is under maintenance now.
Inductive reasoning with colors

I like the color purple. That doesn't mean I dislike all the rest of the colors, I actually probably like them all equally. Oh, I like pink too, but as you can see the CSS here is purple, so I'll use it as an example here. I will proceed to the main point of this post now.

Why has the generalization that purple(and pink, of course) are girl's colors so widespread? It's pretty lame, if you ask me. Why? Basically, some people make the following induction based on the generalization:
Purple is a female color, only females should like purple.
George likes purple, George is male.
George must be pretty homosexual.

There's a lot wrong with the induction itself, so I don't see why it's spread so far. I know probably most people here don't think with this logic, but I know quite a lot in real life, and I'm not sure if they're 100% serious or not. Yeah, pink might be regarded as a "feminine" color, but why do you think it's regarded like that?

Anyways, I can already see what's to come of this. At least I put down some of my own ideas here.
Well, I've received a years worth of BYOND membership for winning a contest held by Mike88511. It was for the game Incursion by Lummox JR. It was a good tournament, and the game was rather tense because nearly everyone double crossed each other at least once, making it difficult to know whom to trust. Anyways, I guess this post also serves for testing any CSS I try to setup.
