Lot's of posts today around BYOND's ads and the issues people are having with them see here & here

Why they are good for you, you ask? obviously it keeps BYOND alive! Many of you may or may not know BYOND's financial situation isn't the best hence why you are seeing ads!

You can however prevent ads loading by becoming a member once you become a member goto Manage Account scroll down all the way to the save button, here you'll find a checkbox just above the button that says Disable ads on byond.com, this should disable them on the pager too!

BYONDPanel.com will be picking up a deal with a hosting provider for some Cloud based hosting, I will be needing someone with a BYOND game to help host and monitor the results of these new servers.

The server is yours for 1 month and includes the following specs :

CPU - 2 - 3 GHZ
SSD - 20GB
RAM - 512MB
Bandwidth - 1TB
Line - 1Gb/sec

The willing participant should have Skype to communicate on certain issues if any arise, they should also know the limits of their game in terms on CPU and RAM, as we all know certain things will not run on these specs, the game they host should also have a minimum player base of 10-20 people to thoroughly test the box.

So I've got a proxy setup on a server of mine and I try to login to BYOND.com with my username and password I always get hit with the below.

Error: unable to complete connecting you to your destination.

Every other login works ie Facebook Twitter.

Pretty much the reason behind this is because I set up a proxy for my fiance to use when she is behind a restricted network..

This is just a simple web proxy script called Glype, allow cookies is turned on remove scripts etc turned off.

[EDIT] works fine using openvpn ...

But I encourage any developer here or else where to reply if they would like free hosting no catches!

The server doesn't have DMCGI as yet I will be setting that up later and I haven't got the mail working yet :(

But nonetheless you will be getting a free sub domain name.thegamesitehost.com, install anything you want from Wordpress to joomla to forum software.

I will help anyone that wants to setup those items but doesn't know how again free of charge.

[FREE] DMCGI enabled web hosting

So my server is just sitting around doing nothing I have decided to make it into a web hosting server for anyone that's interested.

So far I've installed Kloxo and am planning to use that to enable user accounts.

The server currently has DMCGI enabled which is BYOND's language DM that allows you to create websites using DM.

Ubuntu Mobile

The rise in Mobile technonlgy has brought us a new operating system, Ubuntu Mobile!

With a higher end mobile phone you will get the desktop version of Ubuntu with a nice mobile friendly GUI this could possibly allow us to play BYOND on mobile devices! With the limitations of Wine of course.

The fact that BYOND does not have a Linux nor Mac client we are forced to turn to alternatives like the above.
