My previous post got pushed off the main member page pretty quickly and only a few people saw that they could get a BYOND Membership, so I'm extending it until April 1st. No, it's not an April Fools! :P

All you have to do is visit http://youricy.com and give feedback and get some activity going. Most helpful and active person will get the membership.

Be sure to reply with a link to your page in order to get credit for your activity.

Thanks.

I made a post about a new project I am working on a few weeks ago and asked for testers to come help polish it up. Well, as I can tell, not a single person came. So, I'm going to be offering a one year BYOND membership to the most active tester after two weeks. Since my last post, the project has gone through many changes and could probably be considered close to basic completion. The project I have been working on is a web service called YourIcy, which can be visited at http://youricy.com .

March 20th, I will select the most active and helpful tester to give a BYOND membership to.

Why do I ask the BYOND users to test? Much of the BYOND community is made up of developers who know how to find bugs and problems and that is exactly what is needed. One thing that needs major testing is CSS editing, and as I can see with BYOND Members, many people know what they are doing when it comes to CSS styles.

What do you have to do to win? Provide the most feedback, report the most problems, and be the most active (as in actually use the services of the site) in the next two weeks to win. Providing feedback will be the most looked at for deciding a winner. Spamming will not be tolerated and will get you disqualified. Activity must have meaning to the service and abide by the terms of use.

Simply reply to this post with a link to your page and post your feedback either on your personal page or in a comment of this post.

Thank you.

So I've been fairly busy working on Iccusion's newest project, which is a web service that allows you to organize your web content with social networking elements to it. It is also geared towards gaming guilds and clans; however, most of the features for such use are currently in development. So if you are in one or running one, feel free to make a page and use it as your guild or clan page!

The service is currently in beta, but I think it's ready for some public testing. So if anybody is interested in helping out, you can visit the site at http://www.youricy.com and get started.

Any help with testing would be very much appreciated and anybody is able to join and use the services.

If you have any questions, you may ask them. :)

Oh, and there's a picture of me on the site! Under the Jon account. :P

Enjoy!

So... I've been gone for awhile, again. Although I have been checking BYOND often for changes, I plan to stick around more, I think. I have lots of projects to finish, and lots of contributing to make up for. Sorry to disappoint anybody.

I have not posted on my blog for awhile, so, I'll make a post about my progress with Fantasy Realm Online.

Many people now know that Iccusion Entertainment and Chris LaPay's Fantasy Realm Online project is coming out for beta testing this Saturday. Even though it's more like alpha testing a demo, it is a very exciting thing to see. Anybody who hasn't registered should head over to http://www.fantasyrealmonline.com and register so you can play the beta when it is released.

On to the topic. I have been doing quite a bit of work on the world map that will be used in the beta. What I have planned to be playable for the beta is a large castle town surrounded by walls, towers, outposts, and such. Not much artwork has been implemented, so many things will look repetitive, but once more art is added, the map can easily be spiced up. While working with the very unstable map editor, I have been fixing it up some.

This project has been progressing very well the last couple of days and has come a long way from back in 2000 (a year before I started working on it).

Anyway, here are some screenshots of the main entrance (after the gates) of the unnamed castle town.

I don't know what it is, but everytime I read somebody else's blog or forum post, I start to reply with what I think on the matter. I get halfway, if not all the way, done with my reply and decide not to post it. This is pretty much why you never see me posting much. I do this every day. It takes up so much of my time... It's rather annoying, actually. It might be because I don't take sides, or it might be because I am just weird... I don't know.

Google has released a new service called Google Trends. This new service can be found at http://www.google.com/trends. You put in words and it shows you what cities and countries are searching that sort of thing most and shows a graph of. My fiancee and I used it for awhile and found some rather hilarious results. Try searching "I am fat", it's rather funny what countries are searching this the most. I know just because one country searches something more doesn't mean anything, I just thought it was rather funny and ironic. Also, if you want a real laugh, search "Penis Enlargement".

I hope none of this offends anybody. If so, I am sorry. That was not the intention.

But check it out! It's rather fun and interesting.

Just wondering who would participate in a new BYOND Game Making Contest. The contest would be based on who could create the best game in a month. It could be any type of game. The games would be judged on quality of graphics, gameplay, user-friendliness, professionalism, and a few others. Prizes would be around $5-$50 with various subscriptions and memberships. Most likely the more participants, the higher the prizes. BYOND needs more good quality games, and many developers feel that they would be making them for no reason, so I'd like to motivate them and show them that it could be for a reason. It will be sponsored by Iccusion Entertainment, but Iccusion members will not participate, to ensure nobody thinks bias occurs. People would be allowed to submit as many games as they would like, and would be able to work in teams.

So, does this sound interesting to anybody? We're looking to get 10 to 15 participants, if possible.
