Just thought I'd update people on what I am currently doing.

Some of the most major things to recently come to Teridal are classes and new systems/interfaces. The game currently has 13 completed classes with two more on the way. I haven't done much with the game lately, but below is a screenshot of how some of the interface looks nowadays.

The game is far from where I'd like it to be, but hopefully it'll get there eventually.

On a side note, I have decided to focus a lot on casual Flash games. If I can make a bunch of them, I can just put them up on websites and make money with little to no upkeep. Any popular game will be ported to iOS and Android. Once enough money has been made, I can start focusing on bigger projects. What language those bigger projects will be in, I do not know, but hopefully it'll be DM. We'll have to see how things play out.

With that said, I have already started on the first Flash project. Below is a link to it. It's very early on, but it'll give you a general idea of what the first game will be like. Basically right now all you do is click connected balls to "destroy" them.

That's it for now. Hopefully I'll have more BYOND-related news next time.

So nothing on your DotA-style game?

:(

Not yet.
Weird just yesterday I was like I wonder what iccusion games has been up to and you go and make a post the next day haha. But ya the game is looking good and for some reason I cant connect to your website.
That's a beautiful looking game. Is the center panel a HUD or an interface element? I'm wondering because I'm working on some Flash stuff and I'm wondering how much of this will quickly port.

I don't think Teridal will be able to port to Flash any time soon, to be honest. There is a ton of complex interface, lots of required screen size, and lots of right clicking. But hopefully in the future I can move the game more towards it without ruining anything.

But, the screenshot consists of the main window with image borders with child windows and extra map controls. The window in the middle is a non-child window with a background image and an extra map control that takes up most the window. And then all the HUD objects are added to the map control with some labels over the map control for various text displays.

The right side is made up of two child controls. Both use a custom tab system. The tabs are map controls with special mouse over effects and what not. The abilities pane is a child window with two map controls for each column of abilities and a background image with text boxes for ability names.

There are many more interfaces that aren't visible in the screenshot (some are still pretty old and not as detailed) as well.
Very cool. The good news is that it does look like most things are portable, so it's just a matter of prioritizing. We'll see!

That's good. I personally don't think the game is ready for a ton of traffic, though. I'm also redoing a lot of the game, so it's not the best project to promote at the moment. And I'm still on the fence about the way the Flash porting will work.
