Ok, been a month since the last post. I've updated the main Wargames twice since then, the updates has not been too much as I've been working on '2.0' so I'll just pop them at the top this time:

* Change: The 'less deaths' included in the last update has been modified so that non-death scenarios (such as swordsmen vs helicopters) does not waste moves.
* Change: There has been some changes to terrain values in order to promote more trade, All negatives are slightly more negative, all positives outside of uranium is slightly higher. Plains has less wood, metal, oil.
* Change: The game notifies you if you are trying to build units while in 100% civic.
* New: Force players to decide a terrain now, so this should make them think more about what they are focusing on.

Nutyy is hosting a round now with the following updates in the new download:

* Fix: A2's can now be bought in Interwar period as intended.
* Fix: Billionaire medal wasn't registering if the player already had Nuclear Holocaust.
* Fix: Game checks a bit more to see if a country has been wiped out properly.
* Change: 0 Landers no longer remain on the Leaderboards.
* Change: Space technology is speeded up turn wise by your other space improvements.

So as you see, mostly fixes and minor changes this past month. Of course, the main reason being that the really nice new version of Wargames is coming round the corner.

I think I'm just about ready for a beta test for the new version coming out, which will start on friday and probably be a few hours a day for that weekend. Its still early days and will be private for subscribers only, so if you want in, now is a good time to buy up a subscription.*

The results for the last few rounds is available here: http://aceblokeswargames.wikispaces.com/evennewerresults

* Check here: for full information on what you get. A minimum of a Wargames Original subscription will be required to join beta tests for '2.0'.

Buying from the Wargames hub page may also continue to be cheaper for the timebeing.
You think adding in a top-down lobby-like room system for alliances would be considered? I'd love to actually see other people (: , just my thoughts.
Probably won't ever see 'moving players as people' as that was something I was strictly avoiding in Wargames on purpose given BYOND's natural lean to systems like that.

However, I think you are going somewhere in regards to the game and alliances in particular being 'faceless' between players. I think if I can improve a bit more in the minister graphics I could go as far as doing graphics for players too, making their clothes change for different terrain types and their head of state option (suits for presidents, military gear for Dictators, royal outfit for kings) and also whether the key is listed as male or female, I think we can have something close to it but still unique.

I don't know when that'll be possible though, probably not till 2.0 gets public.
Alright thanks.
Will probably host the beta in the next couple of hours.

Again, these betas are available for Subcribers only, so if you want to try it out then you'll need to go do that. Its currently only $3 if you go through Wargames BYOND hub page, or splash out a bit more for even more extras.

There will be a few things to bear in mind over the very short rounds I'll be hosting over the weekend, it is still in midstream and as such, some features are not yet implemented and others are only partly implemented, so the 2.0 version will not be the same as the one I'll be hosting.

Things to note today is:

1) Still using much of the old graphics, where I have yet to do some, this makes some things really ugly looking. Custom map sizes are also to be fully implemented, so your stuck with a 12x12 tile grid for time being.

2) Units are limited right now, while there is variation between the three selections (US, UK, Russia) I haven't even started on the full purchase/research section of it yet.

3) There is a battle system, with debug messages, and it is animated with graphics, hooray!

4) Ministries have yet to even be looked at, so it'll be poorly represented in this beta and simply the same information but stretched over a smaller area.
Why dont you make more organize manner. Like try it so it can be like a 1 by 1 with choices to make it 3 by 3 or 4 by 4. That will save time, not trying to do a way with the 2 click but it be effeicent.
