Some of you might have noticed a Wargames round is up again. Due to work commitments, I haven't had a lot of time to do any more since the last round I hosted of the '2.0' version. For those that don't know about 2.0:

1) It features better, larger icons and more suitable palette.
2) New battle system you can watch, more deterministic and unit icons that reflect the Unit-Region style.
3) Addition of Russian Units, as well as French for subs (more coming soon!).
4) No more eras, time period now more dynamic and progresses passively without research; but sped up with other research completed.
5) More modable interface.

This round features a few more additions, I've added a new flag system which acts more like a 'stencil' than a set design. There is now no limit on colours, and the stencil parts can be moved also without limits. This means you can have 3 stars in your map alongside other features such as stripes, triangles, etc instead of just 'one' design.

I've also included a second infantry unit which upgrades the first, all of these have separate designs for each region, so US, UK, Russia and France have different icons for same unit.

There are more replacements to old icons again, I'm slowly getting there.

I've also speeded up year gain depending on the length of a game, so shorter games should get people further up quicker.
I've rehosted a couple of times for changes and fixes, this should unfortunately be expected while I host short rounds for testing.

Things that have changed this weekend is:

1) Fixed crash bugs regarding flag use.
2) Made changes in regards to Year gain.
3) Split the Map into a separate window, the top right button labelled "Map" uses the 'adjusthud' verb which some of you may have used already to enlarge the map area for bigger screens.
4) I've unlocked Italy as a unit choice for subscribers (only flat fee of $3 for this any many other features, wink wink).
5) We have our first Medium and Heavy tanks. The Fiat 2000 is a Heavy tank for Italy, while the Whippet is the first Medium tank for the UK.

Things I haven't done:

1) I seriously wanted to get done with altering the start up screen and make it actually practical for new and old users as well as highlighting features which are paid. I've kept the old system for now until I'm finished.
2) The latest crash is apparently combat related, and so is probably not fixed by any of the changes I've made for this version.
Well, I've hosted since this an update with the new start up screen and various other features.

I will not be hosting the next version until 3rd of May which is two weeks today. here is a list of expected features:

Definitely in:

1) Some more tanks (already shown in tank unit tree thread).
2) More levels to Infantry research (to flesh out timeline, 1450ish is about the earliest its worth going to).
3) Uranium readded, unenriched material a by-product of mines, enrichment centres convert this to enriched material.
4) Nuclear power plants can be built, Silos too.

Should be in:

1) Nukes, with a new construction system instead of a unit purchase system.
2) Format for enriching Uranium between civic (power plant) and war (nukes) use.
3) Remaking the trade system and Port use (Ports provide civilian ships that trade passively for extra cash as well as for the usual transactions).

Possibly will be in:

1) Conventional payload on the back of the Nuke system.
2) Upgradable Civilian ships for greater profits/transportation of goods.
3) Splitting Armies into two divisions, a home guard force and an invasion force. Invasion force is separated from defending against attacks while attacking another country.
4) Ability to re-enforce an invasion force in middle of attacking.

Wishes to be in but less likely:

1) Ship combat.
2) Conversion of Civilian ships to commerce raiders in event of attacks.
3) Ship raiding of enemy civilian ships trading.
Due to some problems with my router, the next round being hosted has been delayed until 10th of May. I have uploaded however the version I would have hosted on the 2.0 link on the main Wargames page.

It includes all of the 'definitely in' and 'should be in', and by next week the hosted version will probably contain some of the 'possibly be in'.

There are a number of new tanks available as well which are listed in the tank unit section.
