Welcome everyone to the Wargames Showcase Week!

Each day this week I will be showing off the latest updates in each of the games featured in the Wargames Complete Pack, which not only gives you access to all the features in no.1 and 2 but also gives you the ability to play and try out other games as well.

Normally the Complete Pack is $7 for a year, or $20 for life. This week, I'm reducing it down to $5 for 12 months or $15 for life, so now is a good time to snap it up. This deal is for this week only, then it will be going back up.

After all this good news, its perhaps a bit sad that today I start this week off with the least progressed game, but that only means the week will get better as we go along :p

Mondays showcase is Wargames: Total War. The hub page has been around awhile, but today I have uploaded a tech demo of what it is going to be all about. What you see in there is the beginnings of a remake of the original game, back when I had terrible trouble fixing a critical performance issue*. With 2.0 replacing the main game, this left this version without any purpose.

Instead, I decided to redesign it to an alternative format, this time with a little more down to earth for the player. Although not shown yet, the player will act as an individual over the course of the game, but can advance up from a trader, to a government minister or general, to a full blown national leader. Instead of every player getting a country, players will need to team up or get support from the AI to form nations and start building.

The game will also feature a micro AI nation where you start trading and getting support, which acts as a similar kind of PUN in the original game preventing you from getting attacked, but a shared area between players. This does not mean a traditional BYOND top down town view with a moveable character though, the game will continue to focus on a grander perspective.

The game is intended to use an extended era system from the original game, so if you enjoy that, this game will probably be the closest to the original game but with its new focus.

I don't have much else to say on this project just yet, there is a lot of work still to do and others to date have got priority. Its possible that could change though with sufficient support.

* This turned out to be heavy use of checking medals, subsequently fixed and then the remake fell out of development.
Sounds good.
Yeah, this sounds great.
Total war has great potential, sounds very interesting
