Geekdash3 update

This isn't much of an update to be honest, a few bug fixes, interface has been modified (hopefully improved :p) and the single player "story mode" now has 15 levels up from 5.

The Arcade section (single player) and Multiplayer sections remain the same I think, but I have been thinking of ways to improve on it.

As opposed to the other games, you don't need anyone else in the game in order to play its all automated.

Today Exploder gets the revamp and a day of hosting. The last time I updated Exploder was believe it or not over 2 years ago. Since then, BYOND 4.0 had came out, so the first job I had was modifying it to suit the new system.

Other than that the game has had some optimisation and I managed to just about get it a few hundred bytes less than the last version (in reality a few kilobytes in code, but offset by the interface file). You can play it now by going here:

Today's poll also asks, should the Elo ranking, which I did start once upon a time which requires me to do it manually, be automated and recorded on a scoreboard?

The update list is as follows:

1) Interface added since this is the first update since BYOND 4.0
2) Other minor modifications to deal with BYOND 4.0 changes
3) Non-Host Players can now load their maps into the game from any destination (Hosts too)
4) Less code through optimisation, less size

Zetris 2 also got a quick update in order to fix a sound issue.

I do have a list of things I might still do for Exploder for another time, these include Medals (which I didn't do today), copying over features available in regular 2 Player mode over to 3-4 Player modes and perhaps reorganising the hud so its not so freaky.

Today: Zetris 2!

Zetris 2 is one of my more recent games which isn't fantastic but isn't half bad either. Its previous and only release was a basic beta and didn't even have a players online list. This time round it has become a bit more hosting-friendly with a players online tab, messages to indicate what is going on and a few sound effects too. My annoying little bug which isn't too bad is still there and if I ever fix it I'll update it again.

Its online now for 24 hours. It also includes a scoreboard and 6 medals to play for. Link here:

Slide-o-Snake, the game being hosted yesterday also got some updates. While the single player stats were previously available online, I've added more so that the two multiplayer features also have a score. There are also medals for this game too.

The update lists for both games are as follows:

Slide-o-Snake:

v1.2.1:

* Say command is default in the box now, it shouldn't disappear or anything stupid.
* Fixed bug with new Co-op scoreboard results.

v1.2.2:

* Fixed bug with new Versus scoreboard results.

v1.2.3:

* Fixed more bugs with scoreboards.
* Rearranged Layout.
* Added a grey background to say box so you know its there.

v1.2.4:

* Fixed moreee bugs with scoreboards.
* Fixed certain bug where ending message comes up more than once.

v1.2.5:

* Fixed text stuff.
* Fixed bug where Wins wasn't loading at login.

Zetris 2:

Changes in new version 0.91:

* Say box is now grey so you can tell where it is.
* Changed layout slightly.
* world.status changes to reflect who is playing at the time.
* When a game starts it is listed in the output box.
* Logout during play reboot waits a bit longer rather than instantly.
* 6 Medals now available.
* Scoreboard online records single player highscore, number of internet multiplayer games and wins.
* Updated Help.

0.92:

* Players Online shows players in the game.
* Log in-Log out messages.
* Sound Effects.

This weeks hosting schedule

Ok so as a follow up from last nights post, I'll attempt to host a range of my multiplayer games this week until the new SurviveThis! update. These games may receive updates before they are hosted so hopefully will be fresh to people who might have played them before a long time ago. I'll host each for roughly 24 hours leading up to Friday, in which I will host SurviveThis! through to the end of Sunday. The schedule is as follows:

Sunday: Slide-o-Snake
Monday: Zetris 2
Tuesday: Exploder
Wednesday: Geekdash 3
Thursday: Exodus
Friday-Sunday: SurviveThis!

Slide-o-Snake and Zetris 2 are fairly clean and might not receive any updates, they are 1-2 Player games. Exploder is a 2-4 player game (it also allows for more than one game to go on at once) which I'll need to update slightly. Geekdash 3 and Exodus allow for any amount of players and will be updated so it can be automated or have player selected maps. I've added links to the above schedule so you can get to their pages easily. I hope to do medals for some/all of them to make it more enjoyable.

Ok so I'm not one to celebrate things like Halloween, but given I have a Zombie game in development (SurviveThis!) Then I might as well give it an update :p

I plan to release the latest version of it on Friday, with more features for subscribers including medals and ranking much like the one in Wargames 1 (which is a free feature in that game).

Wargames itself recently passed through the 4 years mark, I have an update in the making for that too which I hope to get out sometime in November.

Then I guess that just leaves December, we'll have to see about then, I might do Wargames 2 again, or another project which hasn't had much attention lately. Your free to give your suggestions :p

I will also start hosting starting tomorrow, probably not Wargames until monday after next but something that is multi-playable.
