AA - New feature descriptions

Based off of the comments I received from the last entry, here are a couple of quick comments on the new game HUD (see the screenshots in the post below for reference).

You'll notice that a green bar now runs along the top of the main HUD. This is pretty simple to explain: like WoW this bar displays your experience and how close you are to reaching the next level. I made this addition to the main HUD based upon input from private testers.

Also new to the HUD is the snake's tail. Aside from displaying your character's level, the circle changes color. When the circle is blue it is safe for your character to logout. The circle turns red when you are in danger (in the dungeon, engaged in PvP etc.). If you logout while the circle is red, you'll drop half of your gold.

This penalty system will prevent players from abusing their ability to logout anytime.

the question is, IS he still working on it?

Meh, relax or atleast drop the psychology.

You're probably right about the state of the game now. But who likes revealing a half drawn drawing? Let the guy finish his painting. If he let another painter work on his portrait, styles would clash and it wouldn't be the same. Besides only the owner truly knows if the work is complete...What we see is simply what we "see" and that's it. That doesn't mean we know everything. We think it's great now when it could be twice as good when he feels it's finished.

I mean I take a look at this guys history and he takes long at just about everything but it always comes out good in the end. Rushing never did any good except crush motivation and sometimes it can take more then a year to regenerate.

He could release it as-is and it'd be great.

But instead he's going to let it rot forever, and put all of his good work to waste.

Nah, that was me annoyed. Few people have seen me truly pissed off.

It's common knowledge that AA is vaporware.

To Hulio: This game was actually supposed to be completed and released several years ago. I'm not saying I'm mad at Silk for holding off or getting married or anything, but sometimes people like to just stop by and let Silk know that they are still interested in his game and would love to be able to play it, further motivating him to work on it. No one's rushing him. (except for a few retards, I'm not referring to them though)

(To the impatient): Good things aren't made in a blink of eye.

I myself being a long time fan of Proelium(Silks earlier work) am pretty interested in this project. What are comment's like these really going to do besides tick people off? How are you trying to make him react? "Let me rush AA because of a few ignorant people"? If it's made quickly it's going to look like it. No one's forcing you to wait, If you want crap go play what's already out there.

Do you obsess over AA's development status this much? Honestly, stop being the creepy ex-boyfriend who keeps calling drunk at 3 a.m. to serenade out-dated love songs.

Life happens, and sometimes theres just better things to do with your time then code a game, even if you don't like Silkwizard, comments like that just make you seem ignorant.

Ah of course, its just CepheusSeriphos, I shouldn't have even wasted my time on that bozo.

Plainly put, i don't think i've ever seen -any- game with such a high penalty, excluding turn-based games in which you log out -in- battle.

Logging out in a combat zone and having penalties for it is probably the worst thing to do, 'specially if you don't want constant complains and retaliation.

If anything, yea- Keep the mob, if logged out in a combat zone, in-game for 5 minutes or so vulnerable to anything. But also give the option to log out with special input which gives a 30 second prompt of inactivity for you to log out completely in a PVP zone without waiting 5 minutes.

For example:
Log out without using command to do so:
-5 Minute remainder of your character being stuck in place.

Use the command to log out, correctly:
-30 Second standby, must stay completely idle; then logs you out safely.

I think this game is going to make my project obsolete. Good thing I haven't got too far into it.
