I finally discovered a way to work on BYOND stuff at work. The main reason I couldn't before is because my PC monitor faces the cubicle door, allowing anyone walking by to see what's on it. All of my real work is done on the
SGI, whose monitor faces the rear of the cubicle. The company runs a couple of Windows Terminal Servers for the very few people who don't have their own PCs. It just occurred to me yesterday that I could install a copy of BYOND on a network drive somewhere, login to the Windows Terminal Server through the SGI (thanks to
this client), and work on BYOND stuff there. Works great, except for the fact that the client is limited to 256 colors. Ack! I never realized things looked so crappy in this mode - I sincerely hope that nobody else is stuck in the dark ages of color like this!
Hopefully I'll be able to increase my production somewhat now...
