Hello everyone! I am starting a project of my own to make a video series covering the DM Guide.

This is the first video, which covers the first half of the first chapter of the Guide.

This alone tells me that this will be a long and arduous task, but I think it'll be pretty fun so long as I can get some feedback to keep me motivated :)

It's 15 minutes long, and can be found here: http://youtu.be/L7hZ_bd90b4

Hey guys. I wanted some more practice with my tablet so I asked Yut Put if I could make something for Epic: Legend. I am livestreaming my creation of the main antagonist, "Ryzal".
I just got a Wacom Bamboo Capture tablet about 4 hours ago, and this is some of what I have done so far lol.

I'll upload more in a bit, hopefully.

It definitely has its own learning curve, but I think I'm starting to get the hang of it.

Pixel-Accurate Combat

So this is just a small little post to get people's ideas on combat systems, specifically involving pixel movement. As for myself, the current idea I am running with is this:

I created a /hitbox datum with its parent_type set to /obj. I use the New() proc for this object to place it exactly where I want it, and in this case it is a 16x16 box. The icon is set to null. This box is named a hitbox because its purpose is to detect hits. So I place it where I want it when the player punches, and if the box is overlapping a mob, then it returns that you hit them.

My mob's bound_height is reduced to allow some realistic overlapping on dense objects, so this obviously creates a problem with the hitbox system. To account for this, I created another box that is set to the same bounds as the mob, except with the correct height. I made this box move exactly with the mob.

So in the end, the mob still acts normal while walking, and the hitboxes still function as they should. This was an idea that I came up with to make combat a bit more accurate.

Anybody else have any interesting ideas they have tried, or are just in their head?

Hey guys, I know I've been gone for a while, but I came back and decided to fix this up. It could still use some improvements (Like choosing what target to attack), but I got it working for you guys. Hopefully I'll be doing some more to it over the next while.

Hey guys. This may have to be a feature request, but I figured I'd post here to see how possible it is already. I'm working on making ramps in my sidescroller system (Yes, I know about FA's system. I'm making my own completely different from his for my own personal use.), and there's one thing that I need to advance. I need to see where I am inside another bounding box. I can use bounds_dist() to see how much I'm overlapping, but I can't figure out how high I am on the bounding box. If someone knows how, please do tell. Otherwise I'm going to make a feature request asking for a way to see where the bottom-left corner of my bounding box is in another atom's bounding box.

I'm wondering. Is there a way to "combine" EYE_PERSPECTIVE and EDGE_PERSPECTIVE?

My reasons for this are because of how I am going to be handling cutscenes in my single player game. The player might not always be in the cutscene, but the client's eye would be there. Because of this, I am forced to use EYE_PERSPECTIVE so that the screen won't go black once you are out of view of your mob. However, for visual appeal, I want it to be able to behave like EDGE_PERSPECTIVE. Can this work somehow?

Just need to ask: Will the standalone installer allow us to distribute custom fonts instead of having to rely on the defaults that everyone has?
