Inspired by this post, I thought I'd give this Mod Tracker thing a go.

Inspired by "Scream of the Stickster", I have attempted to make fitting intro / background music for such a game.

There are constant "footsteps" heard in the background of the song (two: one for the player, the other would be the critter chasing him). Meanwhile, on the foreground, I have attempted to recreate the feeling of suspense through sound.

Since I don't know what I'm doing, could anybody tell me if this sounds at all right, or if I messed it up and I'm the only one who likes it?

Sorry, but that was pretty horrible. :) Its like the worst of computery beep-bop-boop sounds and annoying banging noises combined.

I don't think SotS's music needs to imitate its graphics.

The music is kinda okay, but for something like an old [S]NES game. Certainly not bad for the first attempt.

One way that should've been obvious to you is to play it using Dream Seeker, which obviously supports module formats. =P

Ah, I'd try a decent player* before posting about the file not playing. It seems almost natural for module files to be too sophisticated for WMP to support. ;)
(*: You don't need a specific primarily-for-mod-files player like you might understand from Data's post.)

Please note that I just got bored and tried this thing out. I haven't actually went into the sample business myself - I just used the samples on one of the demo songs that came with the software.

I would however like some feedback. Do I have a shot at creating music this way, or do I downright suck? And if I do suck, what would your tips be to improve?
