I figured i'd make this post, to point out that Sundered Earth, the newest Phoenix project game, has some big changes coming.

First of all, we're moving to a much more reliable/high end hosting service, so as to compensate for increased activity and remove any lag/Denial of Service attack issues that we've been experiencing lately.

Second of all, we're adding in a new system that lets players create new characters late into a wipe, without being useless. This is done by tallying up the average EXP of all players online, and granting an equivalent median number of XP to the created character on creation.

This will effectively extend the life-time of a wipe by at least twice what it is now. If not give it the capablility to last forever, as players no longer have to risk finding a player that's well established, and fighting them, to leech their Experience.

Third, and probably most importantly, to most players, we're just about ready to launch our first content update.

This update includes a new world map with unique obstacles and locations to explore, new environmental hazards, new racial icon overlays, several world bosses, a NPC hunting and training system (Allowing players to get stats/power/whatever without hitting a log all day.), new item drops off of bosses, and an overhaul to the new character creation system. All of which should start showing up as of next week, provided the iconners get their end of the job done in time.

Once this content update is fully rolled out, we'll be at version 0.10. Which marks the point where we can start rolling out some of the new large scale features, such as faction army recruitment, zone/territory control, and randomized generated dungeons.

Fourth, we're now taking donations.

We're doing this because I want to be able to pay for a professional pixel artist, or a group of them. Currently we're exploring our options on -who- to hire, but odds are we will have both a submission system, and regular paid artists (Ranging from places such as the Byond community, to popular pixel artistry web-sites, to Deviant Art.) working for us, once we get this set up.

Currently, the only thing holding back development is a lack of icons to go with the code, so this should eliminate the last hold up keeping us back from pumping out content at mach speed, once it's done.

Cheers all, and as always, the hub address for SE is:
