Not Featured = Unpublished. At least it used to. Then the rules got more lax so BYOND Anime guildmasters could deal with their content without being eaten by their fellow guild members. I still believe in the concept.
There's not enough people taking advantage of the banner guilds as it is. They're not going to stick around when the new hotness gathers somewhere else. They didn't when we had channels and they won't now. (The old review queue problems don't really come into it because slow guild activity has the same effect.)
The player base has to be kept together for a guild to have any influence. They aren't interested in the best quality. They're a positive feedback loop that is interested in having access to lots of other players. Banner guilds have to use this to their advantage. Players are gathered to fuel the guild with activity long enough for the creation of games that can be featured for promotion to outsiders.
That said, may I suggest updating BYOND Action's CSS to show off its featured games? Maybe it's just me, but I don't think anyone bothers looking for star icons... Granted, featured games may need more than front page summaries and game list markers to distinguish them enough for developers to be motivated. It's not like I've been satisfied with the number of help files added in BYOND Strategy. |
