Review for Blobble
| A review for Blobble created by Iccusion Entertainment |
Using the same review criteria that Hazman has, I decided it was about time that if they gave me this privilege, I might as well abuse it, use it, or just plain enjoy it.
Being sick as I am right now, I didn't really feel like getting into a game and trying to decipher it, so I decided to review a game that I have thoroughly enjoyed, and know that others who haven't tried it should enjoy it as well.
Gameplay: 10/10
The game uses blob styled pieces that remind me of the slimes from Dragon Warrior. You drop them on your turn into the game area, and get points for connecting the blobs together. The more blobs together, the more points you get. There are several blob colors to choose from, and special pieces including stone blobs, glue, and flashing colors. The winner is decided by the player with the most points when there are no more blobs left.
Graphics: 9/10
I absolutely loved the graphics that were made for this game, they all fit together greatly. It was easy on the eyes, and didn't become a strain to stare at after a while. Which is great, because a great game can go horribly wrong when the graphics clash and you can't stand to look at it. I wasn't a great fan of the look of the output in the skin, but that didn't deter me in the least. It was also a great amusement to watch the blobs eyes when they connected with the same colors, as they tried to look at the blobs around them and became cross-eyed.
Sound: 8/10
The game featured great background music as well as some nice sound effects for the blobs dropping. I don't even remember ever turning off the background music to listen to my own, which is saying a lot. If I remember correctly, the first time I played the game I actually turned off my own music to listen to the games. I was going to give this category a full 10 out of 10 as well, however I really wish there was different music to choose from. After several hours, the same song would drive me insane after a while.
Multiplayer: 10/10
This game can't be played without other players, but it isn't hard to find an opponent. When there's a server around, it doesn't seem to take long for people to start joining(as well as using the chat program to say "Hey, Blobble" and watch the people join). This game seems to just get better and better with more people.
Overall: 9/10
This game is just amazing. Iccusion brought us another great game, and I could easily see myself playing this whenever anyone asked me to play with them(unless I was busy of course). I strongly urge you to give this game a try if you haven't before. If you like simple board games, you won't be disappointed.

To much time spent on Call of Duty 4 to bother with a regular playing time.

If anyone would care to setup a regular playing time for it, I'd be happy to post it on the front page here.

Well I agree its a really great game but I disagree with your multiplayer portion because well it seems to me damn near impossible to find an opponent, thats the only part I dislike in this game.
