Icon Builder Games?
I'm of the opinion that these sorts of games wouldn't fit in the Chat Guild, but I'd like to hear your thoughts as well. Should BYOND Chat include icon builder type games. I'll add them if people think they would be appropriate. I don't think any other guild would publish them.

We have a tie. :/ I suppose it couldn't hurt to have builder/trading games in BYOND Chat, since the number of actual active or available chats are low. BYOND Casual does seem to accept builder/trading games. I still think they'd be more appropriate elsewhere, like a sandbox guild like Ter13 said. I dunno. I'll leave this up and see if people can give us a more definite answer.

Somebody should make a sandbox guild. These games are really sandbox chat games. This genre has emerged over the last few years, and is becoming extremely popular even in mainstream gaming.
Look at games like Garry's Mod, crackdown, and Grand Theft Auto. Garry's Mod is a PURE sandbox game, crackdown and GTA are action/driving games with sandbox elements.
It's quickly becoming my favorite genre.

That depends on the complexity of the game. Personally, I'm for either way. Icon Ultima would belong in casual as it has various mini games like Paintball and racing. The perfect things to fill in time when you're bored, the exact use of a casual game. but it also contains the same things Chat utilities do. That being quick-links, word filters, show-code and what not. So it fits both criteria.

As Masterdan said, icon-building "games" are really about socialization, so if anything they'd be Casual, but they aren't really games, because there's really nothing to play about it. You join, show an icon off, and talk.

they are certainly just chat rooms with avatars and the ability to send-files.
Silly to put them in the anime guild or something else.

I personally think they're borderline casual if not for chat. I see them as graphical chatrooms where you can do slightly more than chat.
