Hi,
A few weeks ago I decided to start an RPG. A friend of mine opted to program the game, but due to complications I have decided to replace him. The game is a fantasy RPG, with many fun features and a great plot to support them. Of course, nothing is set in stone yet, and you can discuss with me any changes you wish to see happen.
I don't wish to elaborate on gameplay mechanics too much, I'd like to keep it low key and surprise players once the game is released.
So far we have a high quality base, the forest area will be finished within two weeks (a huge 125x125 area, each tile is unique, which means we can make even larger/multiple maps from it). I would say the planning is almost wrapped up, but by joining this project, you have a role in altering what you feel is not sufficient, and suggesting new systems. I want you to build our game, not my game, something that most people seeking programmers do not seem understand.
The main goal of the project is to basically break the trend of let's say... games that aren't adequate. I see many potentially fun Anime games in the making which frankly annoys me, if people see something good they will want to emulate it. I'm hoping we can provide a great game and influence developers to be creative, and make their own game, not something they've seen on television.
By becoming the programmer for this game you basically get to make your own game, with top quality pixelists aiding you. We may add subscriptions, I personally don't care for any profit made, but I'm not the entire team. We'll discuss such matters later into the project.
This is what I require from the programmer-
Great knowledge in DM, the ability to make near enough flawless code which will reflect the arts quality. I don't want medicore code, we're going all out on this one.
A mature personality! My last programmer refused to program unless he had the icon for said code, he wouldn't use stand in icons. If you're an idiot, don't bother applying, I've wasted enough time with my first programmer.
This isn't exactly needed, but it's a desired trait- someone that wishes to contribute to the games development. A person that challenges my ideas and improves them with his own, I want a team member, not a person to write my code. Hopefully a potential friend that will result in a great working releationship.
Team members: Hulio-G, myself, AmonR

I'll post a real mock up after the week end (if I haven't found a programmer by then). My turf artist is very busy; it's exam week for him.
If you don't have MSN, add me to the pager.
- Oh, and if you're a great pixel artist that wishes to lend a hand, add me too. The above requirments are for staff in general; good personality, skill, and an actual team member. |
