I'm going to attempt to be a bit more active here, and at least post some links to board game related graphical resources and/or creative inspiration.

Chess Board graphics - This is a collection of really nice chess board type graphics, put together by nick.cash.


Squidi's 300 (or so...) - This has been posted a number of places already, but there are a few really interesting ideas on there that are easily adaptable to a Byond board game.

About.com's 8x8 board game contest - These games were designed to be played on an 8x8 board. While it might not be a good idea to build a game exactly like one of these, they can provide ideas for creating a game of your own. ManoAMano was inspired by Robo-Battle Pigs, which was itself inspired by something called Richochet Robot.


Board Game Geek - The biggie. Huge piles of information about all kinds of board games. Usually the first place to look for board game information.

D'Antiques Game Rules - Links to .pdf or .html rule sets for over 700 mostly board games.

I've decided to go ahead and release a beta version of Gotcha! for download. There are likely still some bugs, but my connection is so bad recently that I can't even test properly. Please, if you are hosting or playing and see any bugs, post them in the forum.



Gotcha! is a game similar to games such as Ludo, Parcheesi, and Sorry. Up to four players compete to be the first to get their pieces around the board and up their ramp to the finish.

I'm stumped. I'm trying to make the chessboard looking background, which is the #page div, reach all the way to the bottom of the page. Other than just giving it a ridiculously large height value, I can't figure out how to do it. I'd like it to reach to the bottom of the content, but not way below it or anything. Any ideas?

Just testing out some .css stuff. Hopefully I'll be finished up soon and can actually add some content.
