I've finished two animes recently. As the title says, one is called Casshern sins and the other is called Noein. Ill start with Casshern sins.

Casshern sins is a deeply philosophical anime that focus's on the travels of one being that seems to be immortal. The world around him is crumbling and dieing, and everyone is blaming him for it. He has lost his memory of the past, and walks the planet searching for clues to what happened, why he is immortal, and what he truly is.

The anime has a great art style, and the fighting is top notch. The only complaint I had is that the enemies are often re-used, which takes away from the cool factor that was there in the first couple episodes.

This anime will depress you. Death is not something this anime avoids. NO ONE is safe from death in this anime except Casshern. All the death around him really makes you sympathize with his character and makes you think of how terrible it would be to live forever while those around you constantly die.

Noein is the other anime I finished, and this also has a deep philosophical meaning to it, along with a lot of quantum physics.

The whole idea of the anime is basically this question: if you are not observed by another person, do you truly exist? The story is really complex. This in not an anime you can walk around during the episode and come back and know whats going on. But once it all comes together in the last couple episodes, all the confusion disappears and it becomes well worth the time grasping what is going on.

So if you like animes that have no fan service, and leave you thinking, check these out!
Cassherns Sins is probably within my top 10 favorite anime.

Ok thank you i'll probably watch Noein soon.

I have always thought along those same lines!
Yeah I loved Casshern sins. The last episode tore me up. I didn't cry but lets just say my head hung low for the rest of the week lol.

nice icons i icon just like that if you need a iconer you know where i am at (on my byond site).
I wasn't impressed by Noein, but I agree with your assessment of Casshern, like Timmy, it's long been in my top 10.
Noein in my opinion starts off kind of slow, but when they start getting into the physics more and the idea of existence it caught my attention.
IMO, the typical philosophical rot some Japanese seem to get off to. Very rarely well done (see Haibane Renmei, Lain). Then again, I dropped it around EP8 so I don't know for sure.
Yeah I think at that point it still has a rather simple plot. In the teens is where it really starts to pick up steam.
At the beginning they spent too much time revving up the plot, it could've been compressed for sure.

I'd recommend finishing the series if you get the time. It's at least worth that.
I guess I'll remember to revisit it in the future.
Noein seems kind of... I'm not sure I'd like it at all.

The other seems pretty good though.
