The art society looks like its in a bit of a slow period, so I figured i'd post what i've been working on the last week or so. I'm hoping to get some feedback especially on the animations. Its basically just a zelda styled mockup right now.

The animations are awesome, however the pointy legs are ... scary?
Ha, I did that while messing with the perspective but I actually liked it, I wonder if i'm the only one.
I think it works for the monster, but not so much the player.
Hmm, that's strange. I don't want one style for the monsters and another for the player. I'll mess around with the legs then and see if I can come up with something better.
I love all of your work ;)

You can still do the same style for both, but the way you've done it (the exact pixels you have drawn) aren't as good as the monster. The style is better executed with the monster.

That's spectacular. Let's make a game with it.
Thats sexy
I've always loved your art, Boxcar. Ever since that little contest i made a year or two ago you competed in. Lol. Can't wait to see what this is going towards.

Would love to do some kind of Collab with you someday. :3

I appreciate it guys, I mostly got kicked in gear by byond's dire situation, and have delegated myself to at least two tasks a day. When I have enough to create a demo i'll seek a programmers help, which will hopefully be around a months time.
I'd love to help you out in this little project. Seems like a lot of fun.
This looks really good. Keep up the good work.
Woah... O_O love it, Those tree's or bushes look awesome and clean. If you need a helping hand on the pixel art side of the game, i'll be glad to help if you need any.
I wouldn't mind some help actually, a lot of what i'm focusing on now is creating and refining character animations, for the player and for creatures. I'm aiming for a combat system somewhere between Dragons Dogma and Dark Souls, with the graphical appearance and functionality of a Zelda game.

The animations include left handed broad sweeps, left handed overhead slashes, right handed guarding and perfect guarding(pulling up the shield at a critical time throwing the opponent off balance), etc. The task is daunting, which is why i'm estimating at least a month for all of the characters animations to be done and polished. Hence waiting on finding a programmer because I imagine it would be difficult to start programming such a system without the visuals being done, though I could be wrong as I suck at programming.

That said, if you are willing to try your hand at some of these animations i'd be more than grateful for the help. Keep in mind though that I'd like them fluid, most of my combat animations have at least 8 frames so far.

This your own palette?
Yep, and I haven't had to add any colors to it for a while so i'm pretty happy with it.
Box i want those trees and that grass
I recommend cutting down the "windup" animation for the attacks, otherwise there will be a delay between when the player presses a button and when their character actually lands an attack.
