Almost the same key in Off Topic

Is it allowed for someone to make a key like mine but change the l to a i so the can impersonate me? Caius CoRPS, so when they go into games it makes the i look like a l.

Many keys get banned. I noticed a few like Heii Ramen, and Eiation.

Its possible and I think its allowed, or else they would check and say something like, "This is similiar to another key, please enter a new name."

Mmm yeah, that should be a ban as far as I'm concerned. I don't know the rules behind this, though.

Yeah, Heii Ramen impersonated Unkn0wn Pers0n too.

He got BYOND banned for awhile, to say the least. :D

If I was gonna do it, I'd probably at least capitalize the I.... CaIus is a little less noticable (I think) than Caius.

Anyways, I think that they get banned on a case-to-case basis. They won't exactly let someone go around as Lumnox JR or anything. =D

Impersonator keys do tend to get banned, yes.

Yes and I am a witness to that. It's a waste of keys and bandwidth and wasting bandwidth gets people mad. I was banned for a few months because of the following keys:

Nyck, Nyck1, Nyck2, Nyck3, Nyck4, Nyck5, Nyck6, Nyck7, T0M and D4N.

The staff said I am only allowed to have 3 keys and the t0m and d4n keys would have gotten me banned anyway. So Nyck's 3-7 were banned. So impersionating keys will get banned.

What about insulting keys, like say: "tibsaprick" >.>
That key was also the person who made the key "Gunnbuddy" which is an imposter key.

Actually, Looking back, I made this post about this person a while back. He has insulting keys, imposter keys and more then three keys >.>

Deadron made a post a while back with some basic rules for BYOND, and in it he said something along the lines of "If you impersonate someone else on BYOND you will get banned."

By the way, the key you mentioned was banned the same day, we just didn't say anything =P.
