It looks better in 720p.

Basically, every 60 seconds, a new wave of monsters appears. After 4 waves of regular monsters, you must do battle with a "Legendary Foe", which is just a fancy phrase I'm using to mean "boss". If you defeat the boss, and every monster ( there is a total of 164 in the first stage ) you will advance to the next stage. Your buildings stay where they are, just the turfs and objects around you change to look different. I won't spoil the details about the other stages yet.

Also, when my character went gray in the video, that is just the "ghost gnome". It's what your sprite looks like once you die. As of now, there is no means of reviving players. I may or may not add such a feature.

All that is left to do now is a title screen, login system etc. and the first map, Forest, will be playable. I do plan to add a "RP/Build" mode in the future which will be free of monsters, but you will have the option of creating them so you can sort of build an adventure and have other players fight through it ( kind of like what they are doing with Minecraft custom maps ). Future as in after the GSD competition.

7 days left! I'm used to getting stuff done at the last minute anyway. :)
it looks kind of fun!
Hope it gets good :)
Wow, you got ownt.

Would you be able to construct large fortresses gradually between waves, and have the enemies break through? I'm imagining them breaking through doors(or walls, if there are no doors) into where you're hiding in the center of a some kind of castle.

Even though it's fairly fast-paced, I think it could be possible to gather enough stuff to make an actual defensive structure, rather than what you attempted to build around you apple.

Indeed. I'm trying to think of more USEFUL items to build because the only items that aren't for decoration are the walls, doors, and traps. Beds, barrels, furnaces etc. do nothing but help make your house/fortress look neat. But it is pretty hard to build and keep up with the waves solo. I'd assume playing with another player or two would allow for much easier building.
I'd consider starting with a tiny fortress - nothing more than a room that's a couple tiles wide. That way your security will build gradually and better match the gradual build up of wave difficulty. As it is now I'd expect a large drop off in difficulty around wave 3 when you finally get a walled off area complete, and then the difficulty would build naturally from there.
