So, I find myself doing the oddest things. I looked at the back on a pineapple juice container, and it said 120% Vitamin C.

How can it be 120%? Clearly I am missing something.
Obviously it isn't a percentage, or something like that.
That's how much of your daily value of Vitamin C that it contains per serving. It just means that it has 20% more than what you need.

'Cause it is entirely impossible to have more of something than the needed amount. >_>

I was thinking 'is composed of x% vitamin C'

Oh God, I would not want to drink that orange juice. ( I mean one that was close to being 100% vitamin C)

I agree... My mom has made me have C-Salts before... which is like... 99.9% Vitamin C or something like that... it's awful...

Yup, this is the right answer... Those percentages are not a percent of the total contents...

The FDA has set certain amounts of all of the various nutrients and substances found in foods that the body needs per day... These percentages are based on a 2000 calorie/day diet, so it will vary from person to person (personally, I don't think I've ever eaten only 2000 calories in a day)

That juice contains 20% more than the value they have set for vitamin C... You'd get 120% of your required daily vitamin C by drinking one serving of that juice...

Which doesn't really matter, because the majority of Vitamin C is just... gotten rid of.

Yep, it's a water soluble vitamin. Gotta love foods & nutrition class.

Too bad any excess vitamin c you eat goes straight out of your system when you take a leak:P

Don't go wasting your money on vitamin c supplements, eat a frickin orange, much cheaper, and tastier
