Battlefield 2142 in Off Topic

Okay, I have been playing Battlefield 2142 for about an hour now. I am playing on single player and I beat a couple of levels, increased my rank, etc. When I stop playing, none of my ranks or anything is saved. Why is that? I wasted an hour. I tried a few more times by playing one level, and my stats still were not saved. How am I supposed to increase my rank and unlock weapons and gadgets if my crap does not save? This game is so confusing. I have no way of saving.

Also, when I try to play on multiplayer, no servers are hosted. It told me to download GameSpy Comrade and when I did that, it said about 8,000 players were Online. It only gave me like 4 servers to join with like 10 players max in each. No idea why it didn't give me all the servers and better maxed out ones at that. Anyways, when I joined a server it just brought me to the regular game screen where I can play on single player. What the hell is going on? Can someone please help me and answer these two questions for me?

Ranks are only saved by playing on ranked servers (online). Battlefield is an online game single player is really just training mode :P

Make sure you have the latest patch, and just use the in game browser to find servers.

Also, make sure you are entering a ranked server when you go online. Most servers are, but sometimes you might click an unranked on accident, and if you do, you won't gain any points to your rank.
