Seriously, at what age should people stop looking for sugary handouts?

I kept going with younger siblings, and despite not carrying a bag, I ended up with a full bag of my own right up to 17 years old. Now I could have just given the loot to my younger sister and stuck by the curb, but I was known for being the paperboy in the area for a few years, so that's my excuse! =D

Ending the guild

I've decided to stop running an anti-rip guild, as I no longer have the drive to continue it. That, and an old pc that I'd rather not work to its eventual death so soon.

Some thoughts about rips.

We all know rips are bad for Byond. Look at the last 100 hub entries, it's 80 Naruto games, no real content, all from various source code. But why do people play them? Because some of them are fun. A fun game doesn't become terrible by changing the name. This is not condoning rips, just saying that I understand why those who rip care about ripping someone off about as much as their fanbase cares. Some people just want to feel like a game owner for a short time. I'm going to spend less time attacking rip owners and more time playing the good games and spreading the word about them. To hell with rips, and to hell with bitching about rips. Make and/or play something good like GOA.

This post comes to you from a real-life friend of mine, who sadly won't let me install Byond to do my dirty work. So instead I'll just keep people up to speed.

Sinjiking has removed his rip game from the hub, and now has zero hub entries for rips. In place of Hebi's Revenge, he has made a hub that lists what he thinks are completely original games. While the definition of what I think is original may not be the same as other people, I think he's done a fine job.

I updated the hub icon for D-roc's Naruto Final Fight, and moved him to the top. Remember, keep asking the rip owners to stop hosting stolen work, and they may just stop. Lord knows ignoring them hasn't worked.

Second to lastly - If you take a look at the hub banner for Dragonball Z: Saiyan Assault 2, you'll notice that he stole that banner and didn't even bother to edit the thing.

Lastly - I just noticed that I only have 314 days, 15 hours left in my Byond membership. If anyone wants to help out a presently unemployed 27 year old male with his nigh-obsession with battering rips, and from what I hear, piss off a wizard, I'm accepting donations.

Well, my old broken pc is choking again, so I'm abandoning this anti-rip project. FOR NOW, anyway. Also means I won't be seen in many Byond games, or forums very much, until I scrape together enough cash to grab up another pc. I'm thinking something I don't have to bribe to boot up.

Thanks for the cheers and attacks, thanks for the friends and enemies. This isn't a goodbye, just a pause.

Meanwhile, someone needs to figure out how to separate the rips from the non-rips within the anime guild and all other guilds in a guild-supported way, something that makes Byond administration say "yes, we support this action."

EDIT: Seems like Shipuuden doesn't exist anymore, so I removed it from the list. THEN I realized that they just changed their hub entry. Dragonball Z: Saiyan Assault 2, by Sktm06

The guy's calling original game makers out, defending what someone says is a Legends Reborn rip, which makes me think Legends Reborn was a Rebirth rip. Oblivion II is identical to this game as well, so welcome to Ripsville.

This guy doesn't know his game is awarding stats to members, despite the hub reporting that people who rank his game get free stats.

He appears to be inciting a flame war on the Anime Guild forum, resorting to name-calling to defend his rip, rather than any real content.

For those who don't like wading through forum whining from rip owners, here's the summary:

Sktm06: hey, add my new game, up 24/7.
CBM: the game is a rip, and offers free stats for rankers.
Legendary Goku 10: looks like Oblivion II
Sktm06: STFU bitches
Trifaction: we wouldn't complain if you weren't a rip
Agotens(Atrunks alt, co-owner): game doesn't give stuff out, no one does
LG10: No, it gave me stats for being member

After this, there was talk about banning everyone who posted against Sktm06's game from SA2, bashing of DBO2, accusations from Sktm06 of everyone but him being a crybaby noob troll flamer etc. He mentions that original game owners just don't want competition, that it's not about stopping code theft. Even one of his GMs, Skellotor, defected and flamed Sktm06 for owning a rip.

Sktm06 seems to be hellbent on defending his supposed right to rip, so I'll link him here and see what happens.

Remember to keep all comments clean of obscenity, clear of flaming, trolling, spam, etc. Deletion of the comment comes if it's one-time, ban if you know better.

EDIT: I've rescinded a bit of this policy toward flaming/trolling, just don't push it. If it's in the interests of for/against, go for it. Just don't get stupid, k?

Naruto: Sasuke Betrayal, by Jokah. Newly advertised in the Anime Guild and looking to join. I'm not sure which rip he has the source to, but this one's originally a WOTS source. See for youself. And leave comments for Jokah at the Anime Guild forums. Convince him not to host a rip.

While you're convincing Jokah, convince the rest of these rip owners:

Naruto Path Of The Legendary Shinobi, by Deval4u. Self-professed revision of BOTLS, which makes it a WOTS rip.

Naruto Rise of the Apocolypse Reborn, by Sabaruto. His source comes from something called 'Papi Inc' according to the stat panel which he didn't bother to review very well. Very similar to Jokah's rip. Also, they reward you very heavily if you rank them 1-5 in your favorites.

Naruto Shinobi Nindo, by Drswim. A WOTS rip, but you already knew that. I got to level 35 before needing to rest, so yeah... it's one of -those- rips. The owner is against rank rewarding, and doesn't even like letting GMs edit themselves, so he's got some redeemable qualities to him.

My Guild Name

Eventually, I'm going to appear on the hub of one of my Favorites, and it would be rude for them to see "Stop the Rips" on their hub when they're not a rip.

Anyone got any suggestions for a new guild name? I'm adverse to calling it "Cheeseburgermafia's Guild" so let's not go there.

If I hear a good one, I'll post a pic of my mom's cat Violet. She just had her first hit of Catnip and went insane >.>

A rip of Way of the Shinobi:
Naruto Kyuubis Awakening, by Sasukex5

A rip of Birth of the Legendary Shinobi, which of course is a rip of Way of the Shinobi:
Naruto Akatsuki Revived, by Wfcxcool

This game claims to be a continuation of NMS, or Naruto Mystic Shinobies, which is no longer on the hub. A rip of Way of the Shinobi. This game also rewards players for ranking, with a number one rank giving the greatest rewards.
Naruto: Shippuuden, by Uchiha-Ogi

And while we're at it, I found another game that says it's a continuation of NMS.
Naruto Mystic Shinobies 2, by Lightning Productions, which consists currently of Mystic and Hebiki. Not sure if those are their real keys, but if you see them in their game, be sure to give them the link to this blog.

Naruto Final Fight, by D-roc2k6, which is fairly obviously another rip of Axerob's game, Naruto Way of the Shinobi. Login to check for yourself. Identical stat panels, and shares icons with it. He also gives you free stuff if you rank him.

Naruto: Darkness2, by Mizuki-Kun, also a rip of Axerob's game. Same taint as D-roc2k6. At least Mizuki-Kun offers free stuff for Byond Members, without requiring you to rank the game.

And last for now, we have Naruto:Hebi's Revenge, by Sinjiking. Take a guess who he ripped.

Feel free to hit the forums to tell me where to find more rips. I'd appreciate being informed of what game it rips, along with hub links to both games. That'll save me alot of time, only requiring me to play both to check for myself.

Two rips added

I added two rips to the list, so now it's pretty much underway. I'm learning a little html all over again just for this. wooh -_-

The first addition is Naruto Birth of the Legendary Shinobi, by Goditz. Everyone knows by now that this is a rip of Naruto: Way of the Shinobi, by Axerob.

The second is Dragonball Shuurajou, by Vegetassj9. You'll find out that this one's a thinly disguised rip of Dragonball Online Classic, by DBO Team, which Legendary Goku 10 is now in charge of. It also uses alot of icons and such from an old leak of Dragonball Online II. Legendary Goku 10, the head of the DBO2 project, has confirmed that this game is a rip of his and his team's work.
