Transparency in an interface.

I don't think this can be fixed sadly but before giving up on the setup I would like to know if anyone has found a way of getting around this.

I have made a graphic.

Some parts of it are not filled by a color and are transparent.

But when I create a label and made the label's image the image with transparent spaces, the places that are meant to be transparent are filled by a color. This completely destroys the look I am going for since I want some spaces to be invisible and not filled by the ugly grey color.

I'd rather not use seperate windows since I want these to be anchored to the main window, and I'd rather not check every second to find if the window was moved in order to place the other windows..

Advice?

Make the label transparent then upload the image onto it. Sorry if it didn't work just trying to help.

I think this is pretty interesting... I think i'll spend some of my summer learning it :D

DM's simplicity is unrivaled, but if you do go into C++ (or python, or C, or .net, or D, or Ruby (though I don't know much about that language)), I recommend SFML. It's pretty simple, portable, and open source; the engine has even been ported to the iPhone by a member of the community.

Yeah, I tried everything from changing colors in the image, to using elements becides a label... Doesn't seem asthough you can get the results you want... Sorry about your luck >.<.

You "could" always do the shotty way.. That is have multipul main windows for your transparent designs that are constently updates position wise and etc. However, that's alot of work, would cause lag, and isn't really worth it.

It makes it transparent through the whole window, so it shows like whatever other program you have open were i want transparent. Not the game, which is another thing i find specifically stupid.

I know in Windows you can set the transparency to a color, so whatever you want transparent make it that color and select that color for transparency.

Making the label transparent hides the entire label including the image..

This is a very sucky limitation in BYOND i must say -.-

You still have to keep the limitations of is-transparent in mind, though.

You have to make the label transparent also not just the image or it will show the grey under the image.
