C'mon. My ideas are awesome, you know they are. Vote for them! NOW! If you don't, I'll set the Dopefish on you.

Online solitaire, to profit from bored people.

Community poll site, like http://www.bash.org but with polls.

TV show reminders, for forgetful people (like myself).
I like the Solitaire and the TV reminder ideas!
I'm pretty sure that http://www.yourtv.com.au does e-mail reminders for TV shows. I'm sure I've seen SMS reminders around as well. I like the part about being able to record shows that way. It'd be nice to be able to SMS a phone number with a channel and time (or title) and have it record the program for you. The only time I use the VCR is when I call someone and ask them to tape me something I thought I would be home in time for.
I've dealt with the dopefish many times before.
Uh Windows XP comes with Multiplayer Online Versions of almost all of their card based games like Solitary and more.

Awesome! Thanks for the link. I'd searched for something like that before, but hadn't been able to find it - hence the idea. I shall have to make use of this. :-)

Think about what you're saying... multiplayer solitaire? :-D

You're missing the point. There isn't just one Solitaire game; the one you're probably thinking of is called Klondike. There are literally thousands of other solitaire games, played using a standard pack of cards. FreeCell and Spider Solitaire are two other variants that Windows has. You can find others on the web quite easily. The idea is that if you bring all of them together in one place, let people play them for free, and slap some Google ads on the site, then people will be able to play any of these other variants. Not a blockbuster money-maker, certainly, but I reckon it would do okay. And it wouldn't be too hard to make either.

Small effort, small payoff. Still worth it.
Crispy, you could use Google Calender to remind you of TV shows and whatnot. You can set it to email you whenever an event comes up on a certain calender. I have been known to use my cell phones calender as a TV alarm. I lub me some stargate, but always forget about it.
Yeah, but then I'd always forget to set the reminder. :-)

Plus, I want to know if an old favourite comes on. If they start running, say, Black Books again, I want to be told about it without having to check the TV guide all the time.

Basically I want the ultimate "set it and forget it" solution. No effort required on my part!
If they start running, say, Black Books again

I bet you already know this, but it's back on.

Friday Night, after "Chases war on everything". They are starting at the very beggining though.
Yeah, I know; I only caught that because of YourTV.com.au though!

Freaky bit of coincidence there. :-)

> They are starting at the very beggining though.

I think the first episode is the best actually. You can't beat The Little Book of Calm.

"Think of the sea"... okay... okay... sea... ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!

...Oh,
calm sea, calm sea...

And of course the missionaries... "We'd like to talk to you about Jesus." "Great! Sure! Come in, come in, what's he doing these days?" Classic.
"We'd like to talk to you about Jesus."
"Great! Sure! Come in, come in, what's he doing these days?"

My next comment would be:
"Well, actually... he's dead. Were you close to him?"
