Wii's Demographic Outreach - A Success at a personal level

Yesterday I got to show off my Wii to most of my family and it became an instant success. Me and my brother-in-law played 9 holes of golf and I went into the last 2 holes with a 6 stroke advantage but in the last two holes I flubbed up majorly and he ended up winning by 2 strokes.

Then we moved onto bowling and decided to do 4 players on our two Wiimotes. The two games clearly showed the types of situations that Nintendo was probably drooling over while creating the Wii system. The first game was me, my brother-in-law, my pregnant sister and my 91 year old Grandfather. For the first three rounds my grandfather didn't know exactly what to do so he lagged behind at first. My sister though tore it up, nailing 5 strikes during the course of the game (compared to my 2). However hers were inconsistent and not linked so I eventually won. The final scores were like 157 for me, 147 for my sister, 143 for my brother-in-law and 108 for my Grandfather.

The second game was me, my brother-in-law again, my other sister and my mother. My mom dominated the first 7 sets, getting a strike or spare each time. However by the 9th set, it was a neck and neck battle as I had a score of 142, my mom 143 and my brother-in-law 144. It basically came down to the last bowl as I scored a spare then 9 pins to end at 161 while my brother-in-law messed up and ended at 153. My mom just barely scored a spare and then got the 9 pins necessary to win with a score of 162. My sister ended with a score of 139.

All in all, it was a blast and proves that Nintendo really has come up with a great concept!

An Independent Scotland?

It could be possible, the Scottish Parliament is holding elections on May 3rd and a recent poll by Populus published in The Times shows the party advocating an independence referendum, the Scottish National Party, currently leading with 38% support.

For more information, check here:
http://www.angus-reid.com/polls/index.cfm/fuseaction/ viewItem/itemID/15224

Correction: The 38% support for SNP is in the local vote, a separate regional vote shows SNP with slightly less support at 35% but still the leading party nonetheless.

World of Warcraft - I have given in

I finally gave in and got a trial account for World of Warcraft. Here's a couple of choice pictures that I took during my playing:

Picture 1: This guy got pissy after I declined a duel from him. The epilogue to this tale is that I ran into this guy a day later in a lv15 dungeon when I was lv14 and he was lv9 and he was begging me to party with him. I told him no and that I preferred to do quests solo to maximize loot. He ended up getting raped twice while I was there.

Picture 2: This picture speaks for itself.

The Fate of MCWU

Poll: What should the fate of MCWU be?

Continue it, I like to see the month-by-month progress of the Console Wars. 100% (3)
Stop making them, I don't even look at them. 0% (0)

I got alot on my mind at this time and I really don't feel like doing the next MCWU anytime soon. However I can at least get the raw data and store it for later use in making the March MCWU at a later date. However I'd like to know if there is even an interest or desire to see this continue?
