The Lost Postcard: More chances to win!
Postcard #14 has finally arrived! I can see why it took so long, can you? One bonus point to the first person to say why.

It seems that Dantom del Byondo is really thinking about winding down this adventure. The last couple of postcards have hinted at it, but this lost postcard gives us our biggest hint yet ("I think I can safely call this adventure complete"). Sounds like it's time for the final contest:
Speaking of guesses, nobody's gotten either destination for days 29 and 30. Though I do like the tie-in of Jon88's guesses (Pringle, SD) since apparently Tom got himself some Pringles on day 24. How'd you know?
Feel free to go back and change your Postcard #17 answers while you can!

For 2 full points (good for one year of Membership for you or a friend, or any single item in the BYOND Store), guess Tom's final mileage for the trip. The closest guess wins it. One additional point if you guess the day the trip ends. I get the feeling it's coming soon!

After looking around a bit... I don't think that Tom didn't send the postcard late because he didn't want us to know that the adventure was ending soon, because after all, I've read through the first few posts on Dantom del Byondo's blog and all I've seen is that Mike H. came up with the idea for the contest since everyone thought it was so that must mean that Tom doesn't even know about it. I think that the postcard was sent to Sioux Falls, SD first for some reason like no nearby airport or something to that effect, but I doubt it was because there was no nearby airport, and then sent to Mike H. hence the stamp on the back of the post card. Also like some people think that it was because of the typo in the address, that wouldn't make sense because even Mike H. said that the address wasn't even close to correct so that wouldn't matter.
*edited because of a typo in my second sentence that basically changed the meaning of the whole thing*
Ends on day 31 with 1686 mileage.

Don't forget that they have to ride back!
[Edit:] Though I guess they could catch a plane home... But what to do with the bikes? Plus, it sounds like Tom's gambled his travel money away! Maybe they can sell the bikes for money for plane tickets?

Tom sent the card late to hint that he was stopping his adventure back at Gillette.
Tom's journey ends on day 30 after riding for 1622 miles!

My guess as to the late-ness is because either Tom got drunk and forgot to send it, or the staff of the local postal agency got drunk and they forgot to do their jobs. I'm thinking the former as it would be highly unlikely that the entire staff would get drunk.
Am I right? Am I right?!
...I want a BYOND Membership! =(

My guess: Tom was ambushed by road agents on the trail between Spearfish and Deadwood, and left for dead. At night, the wolves came, but fortunately, he was rescued by a sheriff's posse just in the nick of time. The postcard was lost in the commotion, but was later found by a VW van full of hippies who initially intended to use it as a large rolling paper, but finally decided to put it in a mailbox so as to avoid incurring the wrath of the Bike God.
