When Using dream deamon, in all the help things it talks about using the port and foo.bar.edu, but how do I know what port I am? I know i'm not foo.bar.edu but what am I?
Would it be name.aol:2000?

You select the port yourself then when people want to connect they'll connect to (YourAddress):(SelectedPort). When selecting a port make sure to pick a higher number(1000+) since most of the lower ports are reserved for specific purposes.
Also note that your "address" is your IP address. Like 69.241.0.25, for example.

Apparently numbers above 2048 are better. *shrug* Port 3000 is good.
I usually use 1029 though, so I can't talk. =P It's easy to type (not on the numpad, I rarely if ever use the numpad to enter numbers); the two outermost number keys (1 and 0), then the next two keys in (2 and 9). =D
ill explain it for you, damn computer impaired people -.-...connect to your ignorant aol service, then go to your control panel and click on network connections click on your connection and then click the tab "Support". there ya go..thats your IP information
if your on aol you probably dont even wanna bother hosting anyway. Unless the byond netcode is so good that multiple ppl can play on a dial up server with no lag. And if it is Dantom needs to sell the code to mmog companies to make millions. =)

I see no tab marked support
but I care don't anymore......
I'll just host using dream seeker =)

sorry..i meant double click? O_o; ..damn people wanting precise descriptions of things -.-;;
The byond netcode DOES allow a few people to play on a 56k hosted server. I wouldn't try it with AOL though. I don't think you could get more than 1 other person without massive lag.
