The AA Challenge

It's been announced, http://members.byond.com/AcheronsAwakening.

An interesting attempt to point out the flaws in the BYOND rankings system. It's a terrible system, yes, but it sure is fun to abuse and watch the little numbers go up and down.

It's also fun to watch games like (insert generic Naruto game) and (insert crappy DBZ rip) around the top 20. Can't we find some other way to bring up the more original and quality BYOND games to the top of the lists? Don't let the word of mouth do the work for you guys. This actually might need professional reviewers or something for each game to give scores and I actually think it's a lot better than this ranking system. Steal GameFAQs's idea or something.

So anyway, support Archeron's Awakening. I did my part. I always love proving people wrong, and I know this isn't the same thing, but it will guarantee an IN YOUR FACE at the end.

(or it could backfire with Silk saying that when AA hits #2 only)

FMA vs. SAC

That is totally correct, I'm calling it. I might spark some sort of fanboyism or flames but I want to know dammit.

I'm currently setting myself up to get into one of these two and I want to know what is the better one to watch overall.

Now based on one episode I viewed and perhaps other opinions, I have drawn this up.

Ghost in the Shell:
+ Has an awesome dub
+ Interesting atmosphere
+ 26 episodes is the perfect length
- Characters seemed bland
- Difficult to follow

Fullmetal Alchemist:
+ Edward is pretty awesome
+ The whole supernatural power of alchemy is original and enjoyable
- overrated?
- All other characters are somewhat annoying (that damn robot)
- 52 episodes has a high chance of filler

Discuss!

Look, an update!

Yeah the blog that nobody reads because there's nothing interesting on it. Well I got news for you, BYOND isn't interesting either so this shouldn't be any less interesting than all your other blogs!

So I guess I should throw something interesting to discuss in here, huh? There's not much to say except that I've quit WoW (and people said that was hard) and can now resume college in a full-fledged manner (nooooooooo). Assignments pile up and it's annoying but I shouldn't be complaining, I barely do any of them.

So how about those BYOND coders huh? Nothing interesting they put out except for a few dedicated ones. Has anybody ever tried making a stealth action game? That would be interesting.

I wish I could find an original idea for a game that would be simple enough to be addicting, sadly, it's hard to come by because it always turns out more complex than it shouldn't. So if any other people out there have an idea, let's hear it. Coding is fun, but only when you have all your goals set and an easy way to do them.

So, there you have it. Expecting more were you? Well go ahead, start flaming! I see way too many flame wars on here so why should this be any different? It doesn't need any racial slurs or religious bashing to get flame wars going. People find a way.

Look, a tumbleweed!

Well well well, a blog space that has little action or activity and I blame one thing...

What exactly am I supposed to post in here?! I could voice my opinions, shout out against authority, rate my newest facinating in shiny things, talk about food recipes, or maybe even ask people how they're hanging.

There, I answered my own question. Are you happy? Of course I could spiff up the place if I knew any HTML. Oh wait, I do. But I'm not going to bother since I don't quite grasp it yet. I know traces of stuff, but only to impress the un-HTML knowledged idiot (I love it when that happens).

Anybody like that Lolo game I made? I'm making it again from scratch, and I hope it works more efficiently this time. I'm also going to add in more players and a team assigning system similar to Bomberman DS. Where you pick a color and anybody else who picks that color is on your team. Cool eh?!

Also that little chunk over there on the right side of the site where it says "My Fans". What does this mean? Are we on the same buddy lists? Did I answer my own question again? Am I asking too many questions?

Stop reading, you're making my head hurt. Even though typing is a lot more frustrating than reading. I hope you're happy since you get to do less work than I do.

Anybody know a guy with the key Loduwijk? He rocks. Anytime you see him, you're should tell him how much he rocks. Maybe with a friendly wink or a slight chuckle. But don't do both, because you know what that'll seem like. Perhaps ask for his autograph in a notepad format because you'll know you can sell it later for big BYOND dimes... what? They don't have BYOND dimes anymore? What a rip.

Is there a limit to these posts? If there is you might not even get to see this. I'm sure it would tell me if I couldn't type anymore in this space. Just look at how ugly the font is. And who picked out that default background color? Was it you Lummox JR?

A lot of talk about Naruto... too many games out there. Stop making Naruto games. We have enough. You should make a game that specifically takes Naruto games OFF the hub. Imagine a game where the world keeps track of how many Naruto games you can find that suck and it zaps them to a BYOND administrater that then removes the game from the hub. It would rock, I give it 5 stars out of 6. It doesn't get the last star because it doesn't exist yet.

Check out all the action over at the Silk Wizard site. He's apparently about to release that new "revolutionary" game of his called Archeron's Awakening. I don't know how it can be revolutionary because when was copying another game revolutionary? Sony has been doing it with their hardware for 10 years and nobody calls them brilliant. The game is going to be BIG. BIG, I say! Consider this some advertising. Maybe Silk Wizard will give me 10 minutes of private testing time opportunities if I advertise the game for him. Although this site isn't popular so that's never going to happen.

I've been going to bed late often these days. Because I got 3 weeks off school it was quite fun. But now when Monday comes around, it'll be back to school. College blows. I usually spend my in-class time designing BYOND games for you guys, isn't that cool!? It would be cooler if they were actually finished and released. Why can't I ever finish one? You see how great that Lolo game is that I made? Imagine if I actually finilized it! It was denied from publishing because it said I had to edit something. It didn't specify what, so I'm frustrated at that. So the recent popularity spoof from Zaole, gave me some motivation to REMAKE it. Isn't he nice? You should thank him. But it caused some people to start watching me on their pagers. People please, why bother? You don't need some low life BYOND coder who can't finish a freaking game on your pager who only hangs out in the same area day in day out. It just doesn't make sense (neither does this long post).

Let's play a game then since this place could use some excitment. And since you read the whole thing and got to the bottom, you deserve some fun other than crappy Naruto and DBZeta games out there. See? I can finish a game, even if it isn't a coded game. (If you just skipped to the end, I applaud you. You're smarter than you look. And if you didn't, you're still smart because you probably read AND understood everything! You deserve a pat on the back) Now all you have to do is get the little post counter up to at least 20 posts! 20 comments on this one blog post before... let's say, next week! It seems like a Katamari Demacy mission.

So let's get rolling... posting, I mean! (And I want REAL posts, not some gibberish)

Here's that stapler again for motivation:
