I ended up buying the new Naruto game for the XBOX 360. I'm very happy with it. There's a lot of room for improvement but so far it's awesome.
The fighting (particularly versus mode) is sweet. The idea that a well timed block can be the difference between simply blocking or pulling off a move that will land you behind the enemy without taking any damage is a lot of fun (both to use and have used against you).
So far Rock Lee is my main man. I think as I get better with the other characters that will change, but he's great for people who are new to the game because his speed is amazing. I've taken quite a liking to slipping behind my opponent and delivering a good old fashion spine punch.

I doubt the story mode will last much longer (not including side-missions) but that really doesn't seem to be a problem. There's a lot to do outside of story mode that should keep me happy for hours.

My only real problem is with the voices and the translations. By the time I slowed down on Naruto the anime was just beginning to be fan-subbed. So these voices seem really strange, and the names they give everything seem off (although I'll hand it to them that it's not as bad as it could have been in that area, there are some things named right, mainly characters).

I'm really looking forward to a sequel which allows for group fights. Something like Marvel vs Capcom 2* where you've got the rest of the team on the sidelines backing you up would be nice. Offensive substitutions would be sweet.
I'm hoping they improve on the multiplayer cast through downloadable content. I like the characters they've included but there are so many more characters I'd like to see.


Overall, buy it so they make a sequel which will (hopefully) have all the additions needed to make a must own game.




*for those who have noticed, I use Marvel vs Capcom 2 as an example a lot because it's one of the few fighting games I've ever really enjoyed. Soooo many characters.
