There was also a few challenges of getting weights onto a platform to counter weigh something. Also, the last area is basically a boss battle, but it is quite challenging. And episode 1 has a few areas that are puzzles. None of the puzzles are particularly hard or anything, but it does give you other things besides running around and shooting. Plus, throwing things at your enemy was also part of the game.

Why the hell does someone right away assume because I speak poorly of a game that it pisses me off somehow? Halo doesn't piss me off in the least. You want pissed off? I was playing the extra stages on Mario Sunshine and got so pissed I threw a controller through a closed window.

That being said Half-Life 2 is close to like the thinking mans first person shooter. You could totally just run and gun the entire game, without question. But there was a lot of other ways to complete a mission, or kill a enemy or even enemies. The extra puzzles they added into the game simply broke up the the first person shooting elements enough to make it just that much more enjoyable.

Or how about when you stage that siege on that base with the ant lions? That was totally killer. You toss these sent pods at these towers, and loads of ant lions just climb up and tear apart the guards.

One of my favorite chapters is the ones with the vehicles, where you need to cross a large amount of land while avoiding enemies. The water boat one was real fun, traveling across the swap while they tried to kill you, the dirt kart one was real fun too.

There were many instances in Half-Life 2 where, there was almost none of the normal run and gun taticts of a normal first person shooter. They broke it up rather well and it was real fun.
THE STORYLINE IS A JOKE
The playtime was cut in half, the ending is horrible, the story line isn't plausible. Why the hell would the profit of truth just be sitting with a contingent waiting to die? He'd be flying about with his VAST army kicking ass. Ugh total let down. Why'd they have to kill off the masterchief so dumbly? is cortana dead? why the hell wasn't that airlock LOCKED? so lame. SO SO lame. Worst 60 dollars ever, i'm too depressed to play live.

You got to remember that they were not going to make no Halo3 but with all the hate letters and e-mails that they got that pretty much were forced to make it. So there you go, you guys got what you wanted, a rushed game and ending to the Halo series.

Hehe, did someone not pay any attention at all while playing the first 2 games, and ignore what was happening during the 3rd game? Since everything about Truth, and the covenant fleet sucking was explained pretty well in Halo 2 and Halo 3 (though it does require some connecting the dots).

I don't have Halo 3 nor do I plan to get anytime soon(I don't have a 360) but I heard there is more..Try beating on legendary mode or better yet youtube it..

I really don't appreciate games that make you do that sort of thing to get a better or "true" ending to the series. When I play a game on normal, I should get the best ending possible. I don't feel like playing through the game again with double the difficulty.

Kingdom Hearts did that, freaking adding in a bunch of hidden endings you can only get by playing the game a certain way. I hated it. I just beat it on my own and then youtube'ed the rest.

I like that. It gives me more reasons to play the game. If the game sucks, I can just do what you said and YouTube it.

Ehh, well... If you look around;
IGN reviewed it, gave it 9 out of 10, for some buggy AI in the campaign (Which is kind of Ironic, because the first and maybe the second games in the trilogy were applauded for having good AI).

I found Halo 1 and Halo 2 to be entertaining. There were more boring and slow parts of Halo 2 than Halo 1, but in the end it was still entertaining enough.

Bungie did a pretty good job with the first two games, maybe a better job with the first than the second, but regardless of that, you might as well go ahead and play the dang game. Don't hate a game for its hype. >_>

The AI is great. It's just really, really bad at driving and shooting (when it's on your side, enemies seem to be better than allies). Everything else goes great with it. However it's a huge pain in the butt because there are several areas that involve driving around dodging heavy fire while your team mate uses the vehicles weapon to destroy the enemy.
In co-op this would be a highlight of the game. When playing solo it's torture. They'll sit there in the car, sometimes not even moving, while the enemy bombards you with fire. Before I had a guy driving who decided that after his buddy was pulled out of the passenger seat he would just sit there, twiddling his thumbs while the enemy walked around to pull him out (obviously my turret couldn't come in tight enough to get him).

What are you talking about? The first Halo didn't have online multiplayer.

It had way better multiplayer than halo 2 though, system linking it was SO much more desireable.

I'll agree that system linking > online play.. there's nothing more thrilling than a bunch of people on two TV's killing each other and screaming insults loud enough so the people on the other tv hear you..
In response to Darkdemonrad (#12)
Halo 2 supported System link play as well.

I actually thought the game was great.

Watch after the credits, bud. About Truth, he was ready to die, that's why he activated the Ark, because he believed that the Halo's firing would send all that believed in the Great Journey to godhood. About his fleet, most of it was destroyed at the Delta Halo during the Civil War and the flood.

It's a giant superweapon, designed to wipe out all life with in the galaxy, or rather part of a system of Super Weapons (there are 7 in total, and when one is activated, they all fire off).

They are giant terraformed rings usually orbiting a planet or sun (hench the name Halo). They were built by the Forrunners as a last ditch effort to deny the Flood parasite victory, by destroying themselves and everything other living thing in the galaxy (thus destroying the flood's food supply, defeating the flood).

As it turns out the Forrunners built ways to protect themselves from the rings, however a Rampant AI ended up bombarding them back into the Stone Age (hint hint at who the Forrunners are).
