Pick Which game you think would be a good game to start your Role playing Exp

Alright, here's the thing, I'm looking to develop an original DB RP game that can run much longer wipes than finale, and have powergain increase EXPONENTIALLY, so that gains for the first 20 years or so are very low, alien contact with earth would be kept at a minimum for that time, so for example, the highest BP by year 20 would most likely be around 150, etc. Characters would be reincarnated automatically as in the show, those who did not keep bodies. When someone dies, body keep will be prompted to a proven RPer's rank or an admin, who will then choose, before an automatic system is in place. Each reincarnation would carry over very slight amounts of stats, and such, and wipes could last for months. A single character could be reincarnated 20 times before a wipe, more maybe. I like this idea, it would be very strict rp, mostly text based with a few verbs being added in with time. I need coders. Calling all members for help on this matter.

Here I will point out almost -every- reason this game is bad. Some people may ask me why I'll seem to ignore the good points.

I have three words.

What good points?

The Races;

Saiyans-The most overused race on Finale, even topping Changelings. I can guarantee you that if Super Saiyan was taken away, NOBODY would play them. First sign of noobishness, Ho!
Alignment? More often...well, any. Sadly. Saiyans were a violent warrior rare, but I've seen more good Saiyans than bad.

Humans and Spirit Dolls-So they have great tech ability, and Spirit Dolls apparently have nice stats. Right. That might sound great, but even so Tsufurujins are almost a better choice, if Saiyans didn't tend to enslave them.

Third Eye? Not all Humans could fucking access Third Eye, Tens. Tien was a reincarnated...God, or Demon. I forget which. According to Tien in the Manga, he can even grow entire limbs back, but not quite like Piccolo/Cell. Not all humans had Third Eye, and it wasn't a 'UNLEASHING CHAKRA'. This isn't Naruto, get the fuck out.

People argue Ascended Humans are rape. Too bad Changelings and Saiyans will rape them before then.

...Any Alignment for either.


Demons and Kaio-
I have no particular beef with these, except-

MAJIN AND MYSTIC WERE NOT USABLE TECHNIQUES! It was never shown that Kaio could revive, either! For fuck's sake. Alignment? Evil and go-OH, WAIT.
APPARENTLY DEMONS CAN BE NEUTRAL BUT KAIO ARE -PURE- GOOD.

Makyojin-I never understood the POINT. It was never shown anywhere that Makyojins could summon Demons, or anyone in Hell for that matter, but here...they can. For some reason, Makyojins are on Earth. By nature. Uh? I guess they should be evil, not sure.

Androids-Nice BP mod, but, uh...

There's no DAMN WAY OFF ANDROID SHIP!
You'd think Androids would have better Tech mods.
...Any Alignment.

Changelings-Starting strong, and usually staying strong. I have no issues with them. Alignment? DEAR GOD.

Tenshaku has said to me, and other people, that Changelings...are more...-PURE EVIL- than Demons. Holy crap. That is the most retarded thing I've ever heard.


Alien-...This is just a way for people to make pure-_____ Aliens, usually pure speed. Alignment? Anything.

Demi-Gods/Goddesses-A great race stat-wise. I guess he put them in so that people could play in the Afterlife without being forced good or evil? (He contradicts himself on this.) Alignment? Anything.

Half Saiyans-Perhaps the smartest thing in this game, a 16+ year old Human and Saiyan actually have to MATE to make these. I like that, really.



...Custom...Races.
People can, or could, pay money for custom races. Lemme give you the examples, starting from fail to BULL.


Mutant Saiyan-This wasn't all that overpowered, really. It started with 1,000 BP base and a WEAK form of Super Saiyan, but it wasn't incredibly OP. I could live with this.

Agorothian(?)-...I don't know. They aren't great, but just start out with a -LOT- of stats.

Void Spawn-OhHO, these guys are good. They start with a decently high decline age, and can give 10 years off their Decline to boost someone's BP(Current, I believe.) by 100k. Think that's bad. Welllll...

Vorlon-I don't know anything about this race.

Cosmic Entity-Yes. It's Galactus, from the Marvel Comics. Played exclusively by Jeal(Perhaps the only reason it sucks less than Void Spawns...), it starts with some pretty decent stats and some awesome custom moves.

Cosmic Beam...about 5x stronger than Beam.

Cosmic Barrier...makes bigass blue flames come around the user. Kickass for a Melee combat.

Cosmic Crush pushes all people around him a certain distance away. Does damage, too.

Not only that, but he can make Heralds, which basically get about everything he does.

Including his large palace in space, his ability to survive in space, the ability to DESTROY(Well, ICly, he 'eats' them) planets, and...


Well, no. Heralds don't get this, but Galactus is immortal. He just respawns in space immediately. No matter what.


Namekians I have no trouble with, by the way.

2. Tairn. He's spent hundreds of dollars on the game, and has:

-Focus
-Body Expand
-Power Control
-Fly
-Most, if not all usual Ki Moves.
-A bigass BP boost.
-A Tech mod of 5 on a Changeling, don't know if it's higher on a Tsufurujin.
-Unlocked Halfie from Start
-Other things, I'm sure.

Admins. Throughout the history of Finale, bad coded Admins have failed epicly.

Goton just does whatever the fuck he wants. I recall one time I was having a SSj2 VS LSSj battle on Last Act, and he came on and used the Game of Death, Explosive Shitting Disease, and MJ Virus on Earth. Fucked us up.

Beamed is a little boy who thinks everyone is a retard, especially people who don't agree with him.
Sadly, Beamed is the smartest coded.


Fusioneko is just...not...smart. From what Archonex told me, she helped with the Kylin bitchfest of Last Act.

Kylin...I remember it well.
Arconex's server. Mattoe and I were admins. Kylin comes on, mass unbans. I say I'll just reban them.

Kylin says, if I reban them, she strips my Admin. I don't reban them. She does it anyway.

No, this isn't a personal 'me bitching'. It gets MUCH worse.

Kylin then proceeded to destroy Namek with about 1 Paragraph of RP. She was a Changeling(Not Changeling Lord), and SAID exactly:

'Why would Tens give me these verbs if I'm not supposed to abuse them?'

...So, she then destroyed Earth with 2 lines or so, and from what Archonex says, she and Fusioneko:

-Non RPly destroyed every planet.
-Made some sort of retarded 'Palace' in Space.

Before Archonex verbally kicked their bitchy asses. Enough said.

Oh, YES.

This game has:
-LSD
-The T-Virus
-Other T-Boosts that give huge boosts to the user.
-Nukes
-An explosive shitting disease


The MJ Virus is no longer with us. However,

LSD just makes the screen freak out. That's it.

The T-Virus does what it says: Make Zombies. Between this and a few other things, I lowered the ORIGINALITY score from 6 to 3.

Nukes are overpowered.
'I AM THE LEGENDARY SUPER SAIYAN, STRONGEST BEING IN THE UNIVERSE!' Not quite. If they have nukes, they can just nuke whatever planet you're on. You die. Really. It goes exactly like that. Nukes are the most overpowered thing in the game, inarguably.

The Explosive shitting Disease...it spreads through being NEAR each other, and makes them shit uncontrollably. Icons included! >_>

2. Again, he says Changelings are more pure evil than Demons. People follow this rule.

Nenshou(Kitlea) bound my Changeling(Who was mass-killed with the other Changelings by Tairn. How? He NUKED US FROM SPACE.) just for being a Changeling. This same Nenshou reincarnated from a Kaio to a Saiyan. ...Good job there, Rankers.


3. He does...just, whatever the hell he wants. Really.

4. He's made over $3000 off this game, and apparently has no job. I'm guessing 'living in Mother's basement', anyone?

5. He's not as great a coder as everyone thinks. Ask Ryim, if you don't believe me.

I know what you're asking. 'How can the Overall be 1 if the major three categories are 2, 4, and 3?' I'll tell you.

(I did struggle with the Gameplay one. I almost put it at 1, because you can -SENSE- how much someone's strength, endurance, speed, offense, and defense is just using sense. Wow. Fail.)

The game just ISN'T good. The maker puts in whatever the fuck he feels like, and makes money because people(Mostly idiots) buy packages.

This game has been called both 'loosely based on' and 'follows closer than any other Byond game to' DBZ. It really is loosely based on it.

You call this Dragonball Z? I call it BULLSHIT.

This is a fair review for the game Dragonball Finale. I've played this game for quite some time, the main attraction being the fact that I have the ability to create my own unique character and immerse myself in the Dragonball Universe.



First I'll start with gameplay...

Races- there are a huge selection of races, which is rather fun. They are all realistic to the Anime, and each one can hold their own, it's pretty neat how it's set out actually. Players can customize also, theres a race which they can pick their own stat-mods, pretty neat and players can get creative with it. Make their own race, roleplay backround, and even decide it's skills. Each race holds it's own at one point, the game utilizes BP mods, it decides how much battle-power they gain, the weakest races unlocking it earlier and the strongest unlocking it later. So, a Changeling would be the strongest for the first 75-100 years, then another race would take over, then another, and so on.

Training- the training is rather dull and boring, the base of it isn't very creative (one button training, except sparring which basically every BYOND Anime game features. Oh, and theres KI blasting. There are other things that affect training, such as Experience (gained through training, it increases BP mod accordingly), and other aspects- gravity (increases experience gain, pretty simple and boring), and weights (increases gain depending upon the amount the player carries, if they had their entire max-lift, they'd have 2x gain, and it lowers with the less % of max-lift they carry). So yeah, this pretty much sucks, but training isn't the most important thing in a roleplay game.

Fighting- the stat-system is pretty much basic, generic, which means the battle-system isn't that different. Basically, if your opponent has 3x or more BP then you, you've lost, end of, unless you use some awesome KI attack. It never used to be this way, stats used to be a huge part. Then the game added power-ranks, this pretty much destroyed stat-gains, if someone has high stats in comparison to the rest of the server, they gain shit. This could be improved greatly, for example, making the largest nerf possible 65% or something, not 99%.

Finally (well not finally, but this is dragging on), the thing which ruins the games gameplay, packages. Players can purchase boosts for their character, before they could start with double BP, and awesome skills that increase their characters power greatly. It's been toned down since then, but those players still exist, spreading their awesome moves to other players ruining the realism of the game. Virtually half of the server start with fly/blast, not a good thing for a roleplay game, half of Earth are able to fly at year1, these skills used to be fun to actually earn. Oh, and other flaw, customraces, someone purchased a race for $150 'Galactus', yeah! The cosmic creature from silver surfer. It's exactly the same, it cannot be defeated, literally, it cannot die. Blah, the thing that pisses me off even more is that it's not even Dragonball related, I used to have so much fun roleplaying on this game then all this shit that was added made it go to Hell. That's not only it, the game has Zombies, Michael Jackson, LSD, fuck...

There are some more good things I could say, but to be perfectly honest, the bad things outweigh the good aspects. It wasn't like this before, the game used to thrive upon roleplay and it was so damn fun.

Presentation- nothing much to say here, ripped icons, there are some original icons but about 80% of the games overall icons have been ripped.

Originality- coding is fully original, some interesting aspects, and some unique aspects that completely destroy the game. Roleplay used to be pretty fun, one of the main 'original' aspects (seriously, there aren't any other Dragonball Roleplay games that compare, because there are none), but this was destroyed. Roleplay requirements were lessened, it wasn't really enforced anymore, fuck, admins weren't allowed to ban for non-RP'ing at one point, makes me rage.

Overall impression- a lost memory, a once fun community of friends that degraded into a hoarde of raging noobs (seriously, just look at the forum, it's about 75% troll posts, and the rest consist of broken-down players and noobs). If this was a year or so ago, I would be playing the game as I write this, with my old buddies having fun creating unique stories and immersing ourselves in the unique plots that we explore. Now, if I log on, I'd probably be harrased by the dozens of trolls, I might enjoy a quick roleplay, but if I continued it'd probably be ruined by some drama occurence, like always.

The thing which made me play this game was the roleplay, not the unique art (lol), or the new innovative aspects!(sarcasm. well, I'm being biased now, there are some fun aspects which aren't on other games). It was the roleplay, it was the joy of creating a Changeling and slowly taking over the Universe, sending my squadrans of Aliens to devour entire planets and turn the civilizations into slaves. I loved it.
