As stated in the title of the review, simply do not bother with this game.
Many of the Finale people will scream and moan at me for this unrelenting review, but I don't particularly care. The fact of the matter is, Finale is a waste of time, and isn't worth it to get involved in unless you want to be prepared to waste your time on accomplishing little-to-nothing.
I came into the game, expecting a fun RP romp through Dragonball Z, a rather neat setting despite the fact that the shows and such were rather lackluster in all respects. I log in, and I see that there are a decent amount of races. Okay, that's nice. Except for one thing: Half of the races are pointless to play. What is the purpose, exactly, of the Makyojin? Nothing. They are useless tidbits added on simply for canonicity, and not actually expected to do anything. Most of the races are generally balanced out, however, the sole purpose for humanity seems to be making Half Saiyans and training stats. The sole purpose for Tuffles seems to be making technology so that Saiyans can go to Earth, and make babies with the humans. Speaking of Saiyans, don't really bother playing anything else on this game if you expect to get anywhere (although you STILL won't, for reasons I will detail later on in this review). Super Saiyan, unlike in most games, pretty much spells the end for whatever opposition the good guys may ever face, guaranteed. Changelings end up ruling the beginning, yes, but their reign is rather short-lived, as generally, by year 50, all of the adminstaff and their friends are SSJ.
Now for the next problem with the game: The players inside of it. The majority of players can be divided into three groups: The people who are/know the staff of the server, the people who have lost all hope at catching up with the people that are/know the staff, and the people still vainly attempting to get somewhere in a game that is completely based on favoritism. On most games, one would expect at least some of the older players to be willing to help out a new person to become a better player, right? On this game, wrong. The older players feverishly hoard their secrets, to prevent newer players from getting up to their level despite the newer players often spending far more time on the server and working 10x as hard as them. Adding to this is sometimes rampant abuse by the admins, not to mention a general air of hostility. To describe this as an RP game is tenuous at best, as later on, it more becomes about posing and saying OOCly how powerful one's character is. Of course, I'm speaking only of the admins and their friends, as those are the only people who actually get powerful. The rest of the people are generally stuck in a limbo, where training does nothing, sparring does nothing, and gravity training does nothing.
Continuing on with the theme of RPing, the RP on the server mostly focuses, yet again, on the Administration team and their friends, as they do their own little sagas while the rest of the playerbase go about their daily lives, only able to watch as the powerful people do amazing feats of power. Eventually, RPing just becomes too boring, apparently, for the powerful people, so they basically screw around, blowing up stuff at random and generally not doing anything remotely resembling RP. Along with this, the people who might actually RP and supposedly are rewarded for good RP get, at most, a pat on the head, and sent on their way if they aren't a part of the special group that seemingly leads every single server, thus reducing the motivation to RP to almost nil, the only reason to RP being to not get Noobified or booted from the server.
Graphically, the game is decently pretty, with a system that would be fun if favoritism didn't screw it over. That's not the focus of this review, however.
To all of you Finale Lovers out there, sorry for ripping apart your favorite game, but my words are true. Don't try denying them. Comment as you will.
By Popular Demand, The Gameplay Section:
The gameplay of Finale is rather simplistic, in which you start off with a race which you can take one of two paths with: You can either be a technology-focused person, or a fighter-type. There are no real inbetweens between these functions, and no RP place for whoever tries to do both, either. Your power/skill is determined by an arcane set of numbers that you can never actually see, making it rather hard to see if you are indeed making any progress, or you're just sitting in Training Limbo. Gravity Training is completely and utterly broken, in that most of the time, you gain mastery of it too fast, and it does too little to increase your experience. The Train verb is often the first button someone pushes on Finale, yet it is always the worst option when it comes to training. Instead, spars are considered the best, although again, you still won't get anywhere with any training method you may pick up.
How are you supposed to know all of this from off the bat? Well, here's the thing: You don't. There is a limited guide which covers all of your invisible stats, but it only covers the basics, and doesn't go in-depth at all into why or how things work. The end result is that you are often just training and meditating, thinking you are doing good, while Mr. Saiyan next to you who knows every single thing about the game is going SSJ.
Controls are standard for any DBZ game, verbs for blasting and such are standard, standard standard standard. Nothing special or innovative, other than the sheer amount of limits that the game puts upon you.

no, it's a rip.

It really doesn't apply to the game anymore. The game has gotten worse, unless you like Rip games that give more power to those that paid for features that aren't even available to the public anymore. Dragon Ball finale, has become nothing but your standard rip, with an original map file (not icons, just arrangement) and an RP verb.
The game has gotten worse, and only those that value gaining power rather than Role playing seem to continue playing. There are a sparse few of private servers that, you won't find unless you know who to talk to, and even fewer of those worth playing, as some are just friends screwing around. Bottom line, your review would be lower, based on what you seemed to value in the prior review.

This review is completely right. I don't even know why I play anymore. This game needs to be re-thought out by Tens. Cause all its doing is failing right now.
Slowly this game will be forgotten and the new generation rips will take over.

That's how it works, none of the people who portray themselves as woman on Finale are actually woman. The men on the game are too stupid to realize that.

Its a sick little community of children, men who act like women to get power, and women who are whores to get power.
This is a big pedo trap and a stupid fucking game to play.

Also, Packages. The oldbies that bought "packages" start out with godly stats, and can easily pwn anyone. One of them even starts with SSJ. I think thats really unfair, since you cannot buy packages anymore...Yes, the admins do choose there friends to be the RP. They never give anyone else a chance.

I honestly remember loving this game back before when I used to play a year or two ago, whenever it was. It was exciting to actually feel like you accomplished something by training. Being able to build up a house and casually live your character's life knowing that little by little your character was more than likely getting stronger in one way or another. It was fun to train under gravity and spar with other players knowing that, in my opinion anyways, it really felt like the show, but with your own element added to it. It was probably the most fun knowing that after having trained and RP'ed with friends and sparring here and there and everything that when a threat came by, there was an ok chance that they had a scouter and because you lowered your power to five percent they made the mistake of challenging you, only to be met by a horrifying quake rattling throughout the area as rocks floated up and above, leaving your enemy in shock as their scouter exploded from being unable to read your true power.
See, that was how I remembered it being, but unfortunately, it's far more changed now in terms of feel and play than I remember it. While I don't want to admit that the love for the game that once was is now gone, I must at least say that I'm a good bit disappointed to see how far down the game has sunk. I can only hope that this game returns to the way I remember so fans all around can really experience their own personal Dragonball dreams and fantasies, like I used to.

Okay I have been playing this game for three years now. I used to love it, but now I cna't stand it. It's not one server thats fucked it's all of them. It's not one admin it's all of them in many different ways. Some give their friends ranks and help them get materials others can't for a while. Some totally abuse their power and go and train in HBTC when they know they not supposed to and when they get caught they say tehy are rp friends. A good example is the Lionhearts, I have nothing against you guys but coem on now for so many wipes you guys rule everyone. Yes some of the Lionhearts are great rpers SOME but sometimes it jsut get's annoying. If you hook up with the super power on your planet you are doomed. Thats just how it is, I remember one time when i was namekian elder the teacher wouldn't teach anyone but me techniques. So what I did was appoint someone to make a little school and teach him a few techniques. Anyone else I deemed worthy got more. None where my friends but ussually thats not the case. I caught someone trainihg in the HBTC and the admins booted him. 5 minutes later he was right back on the server with some admins training in HBTC the game has gone to hell and we need to accept it.

Wow, look at the nub who wants to debate on facts that they don't know shit about. You're not on both servers so yo don't know who has what. K? So shove it. Anywho, the game it self people, as you can see from the nub below this post, are self centered. it has the worst community of all DBZ games on Byond, period. If you wanna play a game like this play Abridged or Old Finale, cause BOTH have a better RPing community than this game, regardless of the fact neither have the same player base.

Wow Asakura you are pretty stupid. Those "majins" and "rares" you are talking about are non-ascended. I even trashed one as a tsufuru-jin now get over it man.
And only one person that I know of has overdrive. And that person is coldreaper. So uh suck up your balls and get over it.
2) Tech get OVER IT. Tech is hard to get b itself. You want tech then rp with one and start working with him/for him. Tech is difficult for a reason. Dumbass.
3) um...Tens=douche. I'm defending the game because nobody else is and I kinda like debating. Tens WANTS everyone to quit normal finale and go to abriged. If you haven't figured that out yet.
About the 7 people that rped right..What race were you? If you were a saiyan then uh sux to be you. Vegeta=rp hell. Because every nub and their mom wants ssj.

I must admit. I met like 1 o 2 people who amke this game RP, but when the admins ignore there own rules like, no rares until year XX, and then the players don't and you're only 3 years old and have 1/60th the base BP of mr.Majin who can use Overdrive to beef up to impossibly powerful levels and you says "Hey, I'm in a SSj needing type situation" they look at you and will say "It's only Year 3, go to a PvP server." I will admit Year 3 is early for SSj and i'm not going to deny that, but year 3 is also too early for Majins and LSjs and Bio-Androids, which now a days you'll find at the least 3 by the end of the first World Year. Then the fact that also it's difficult to get a tech person to get you stuff without charging an rm and a leg to get stuff when, if you're not a tech person, you don't have the means to get that kind of resources and end up having to steal from another character only to find yourself in a situation an admin is forcing you to give the resources or drill back to the person. Then when you go to make an alternate key to make those nice things for yourself and still be able to be a fighter and in the RP itself you'll find yourself banned and you're looking at a 5 or 6 game years passing you by leaving you in the dust compared to everyone else. Overall, the game if you strip it of it's seasoned players, and admins, and nubish players and ACTUALLY followed the rules such as:
You must roleplay your intention to attack before beginning a fight. After the countdown is done the fight begins and it is verb, unless agreed otherwise. If the opponent attacks you before the 30 seconds is up you do not have to wait the rest of the 30 seconds. That last sentence does NOT mean it is legal to attack someone before the 30 seconds is up, if you do it is non-RP attacking and hopefully they own you for it. If something interrupts the fight or you stop fighting to talk or something then that fight is over and if you start fighting again you must roleplay the first aggressive action again. Before killing someone you need to roleplay that as well and wait 30 seconds. If you intend to kill someone you must make them aware of that at least 30 seconds before doing it, whether it be before the fight begins or after the opponent is defeated. If someone runs from you before your countdown is completed that nullifies the countdown and you can carry out your actions that you previously roleplayed.
Then maybe the game would be ok. But as for now, I say the game itself needs to ge hacked, virused, and have the creator remake it from scratch, cause I see that this game will NOT last much longer on Byond in it's current path to self-destruction by incompetent hosts and there selected "Enforcers", aka Abusers. Today on Murtaki's sever Tens came in to blow the whole planet of Vegeta up, but he awarded thse who had to deal with it a large amount of resources. Thus meaning it's not Ten that has failed his role of creator, cause it was a fun event all and all. But later that day the Abuser SephirothReborn blew up the Planet Vegeta and wiping out half the player population just because they were the majority of player (get over it, that's how it ALWAYS is on ANY byond DBZ game) and wasn't striped of his powers.
My own personal rating for this game is 0.5/10. And it only got 0.5 because of the 7 people that ACTUALLY RP right on the game, as well as the fact Tens is actually an ok guy.

OH, Your one of those nublets that like whine about people not sharing their training secrets. Heres the deal punk. There IS a guide. Don't go around asking for how you play the game. You want to get help training find an olbie and rp with him. He'll help you out. Because asking over OOC "HOW DO I TRAIN" Gets you stupid answers. And yes admins do play favorites get over it. Tens removed the player logs that most people were against him removing.

The Review was well throught out and put together but I got to say it was false on plenty of details. Favoritism was correct through people who have connections with the host usally can get a rank and they will only help out people they know or they plany suck and ranomly hands out their powers to people who cant rp worth shit. Now your talk about race was far from correct, first off Saiyans are not the strongest race even in SSj a Well trained Changling can easily crush ssjs left and right. NAmekians get a Transformation like SSj and become as strong if not stronger then the SSJs. and Once SSJ3 hits they may be the strongest but that is year 150 and their drain is probably epic they have a big disadvantige going SSJ a unmasterable drain that even the strongest of SSJs will run out of energy and become vulnerable for anyone to crush them if theyc an hold out long enough. Now about there not being anything special in this game well let me point out that the way the game works itself is by far the most advanced system I have ever seen or heard about I mean the game picks up how much you train certain ways gives your a Exp Mod thus increasing your entire stat gains? Look at other games you lift this 100 pound weight long enough you level up and you get these stats you get more level up and you become SSJ. Its so dumb, But the creator of Finale seems to put alot of throught into his game designing how stats function and to me it seems like the creators of DBZ would find his design near perfect with the world of DBZ.
