My server has been down again for about two days now. I sent in a support ticket, which hasn't been responded to yet, and I haven't seen Airjoe on the pager the past few days, so I don't know what to do. Not entirely sure if there are multiple people who run the show, hence this blog post to hopefully get their attention, if they do exist. If so, please get in contact with me.

I'm going to go ahead and agree with the displeasure of the moderation team these past few days. It seems you can make wholly insulting remarks about the entire community, but if you level even one legitimate critique to someone specific, you do not have the right have your post read.

At least, only it when comes to one person. Insulting someone else specifically is totally okay.

Also, getting your community to spam attack someone's blog because they made a less-than-blindingly-positive-review is okay too. In fact, if you do that, you will level grind so much BYOND EXP that you will gain the aforementioned 'no one can say anything remotely negative about me' passive defensive skill! Also you won't suffer any repercussions and won't be expected to make something silly like an apology for being so bleeding immature.

Of course, I'm not referring to anyone specific here.

Tom. I have nothing but the utmost respect and admiration for you. But your site's moderation is pretty awful sometimes, and I have a sneaking suspicion that sometimes it's due to the 'personal issues between users' from the moderator's side.

Of course, I don't know who all run the show. This may be an unsound assumption. But I can't think of many other reasons why no one specific has their blog posts free of moderation, while anyone who brings up no one specific's posts in the wake of their idiocy does, no matter how minor the infraction.

Unless, of course, we're all the crazy ones.

Please contact me immediately, as my hosting service has been down for a day and a half now. I've tried e-mailing you, but no response so far.

Edit: For anyone curious, this has been resolved! Airjoe took care of it. Turns out the VPS company wasn't sending invoices, so he wasn't sending them, and it got shut down due to no payment.

He says he's going to switch over to his own system for them now, so you can thank me for improving that part of the service!

ATP is pretty top-notch, this is the only trouble I've had with them, and it's nothing compared to the good service.

To whomever took my previous post off the front page...

How about explaining who you are and why you did it? Given that I paid 18$ whole American dollars for this blog, I believe I have the right to know who did it, or at the very least, why my good natured joke was bad enough to get marked hidden.

I think it would be a neat feature for hubs to have an optional 'recent updates' panel on the page for BYOND Members. It would basically serve as a list of entries that developers could add to when they make updates to their game, to list what was changed/added. Players for the games could 'Watch' the list for updates, like they do blog posts/etc, and it could notify them via pager of when their watched games receive updates. (They're already notified of when there's a downloadable update on the hub, but it doesn't tell them what's in it, nor does it work for games which are not downloadable.)

You could also put something similar to the medals list on the front page about recent BYOND game updates, which would help those games get a little more noticed without having to resort to spamming the Members blog page.

Just a little idea I had that I wanted to share.
