Actually, Partially the Reason is the Slim Burns the Fan up, so it could cause some Errors. It's a Very High Percentage the PS3 Slim could cause Problems.
I Actually Traded in my Old 40GD PS3 for the Slim, It Works Perfectly fine, if you know how to take care of it, xD.

But one this with the Fatter Version is that The Fans Actually Cool the System down, you could play with it for Hours and Hours and It's still be cool.
The Slim how ever, Kinda burns up, but no YLOD for me. Yay! xD
They Still sell the Fat ones over here..lol.
