Add a large image into a map.

I've imported the bmp file buts it's in alot of small pieces.

Create a room
The only thing you can do is place it in small pieces. If you keep it as one big image, the map editor will cut it up into 32x32 squares for you.

Also, don't use .bmp files. Use .png instead, they are the same quality, but smaller.
Don't import it. Set a turf or obj whose icon will be the image file.

My idea is take what the building is going to be on tile it, place the building pico n the place it on the Map.

Or just make it a .gif image so you can use transparency, and then set a turf and/or obj's icon to the image without ever importing it.

turf/Tree //typically trees are larger than 32x32
icon = 'Folder/Image.gif' //if it's not in a folder in the game's folder, then you don't need the "Folder/" part

Transparent .pngs are better.

Yea my plan looked crappy around the edges, literally.

When I try and save as a gif it says it will result in loss of color fix?

Also still looking for room tips.

Also is there anything special you have to do to make it transparent?
In response to Donovantx8 (#7)
Open it up in an image editting program, then resave it as a .gif (or .png Jeff >_>). Save it with the best quality you possibly can. If it results in "color loss", you won't even notice it. I never have.

If the software you use supports transparency, then no, nothing special. If you don't have a program that supports transparency, I suggest you get one, such as Photofiltre. Google it, and it should be the first link. It's freeware.

Ok I want to crop really close to the image but can't find the control in PhotoFiltre

Crop? Highlight then right click -> Crop or double left click.

Not working think of it like a star and I want to get as close to the edges as possbile.
In response to Donovantx8 (#12)
Oh, you didn't specify it was already scaled. Set the "background" color to something contrasting what the star color is and then at the top toolbars, there's a little black and white checkerboard looking icon. Click it and it'll ask you with color you want to make transparent, and how transparent you want it to be. Select the "background color" of the image to be transparent, then move the slider all the way to the right and click Okay.

If you did it right, the background will look like a checkerboard, indicating that it's transparent. Sort of like the "mask" in Dream Maker's icon editor, only with smaller squares.

It may have been something I've done wrong, but yes the my set back back ground is the only one appearing but I still cant get within 3 squares of the side of the building.

like this

HHHHH

I can only get about this close to the building

Because of the empty space in the image. If you make an IMAGE (not an icon) dense, then whatever negative space there is, will be dense as well. So resize the canvas close to the building's dimensions.

Thanks that helped alot ok, this has been really bugging me, You know those white spots on ripped icons is there anyway for these not to appear translucent without recoloring a shade of gray.
