http://www.byond.com/games/Dpheonix7/ FinalFantasyLegendoftheCrystals
Yes, I been working on Dragon Warrior games for a while but now it's time to tame another beast. Final Fantasy. Keeping true with the 8 bit theme that was started back with Dragon Warrior: Shadows of Erdrick this uses graphics and sounds in 8 bit. Some edited from later games.
Ok some statics on the game.
System work is like 95% finished.
Graphic work is like 95% finished.
Play time and content is like 5% finished.
System work will finish once a few more bugs are fixed and the rest will be added along with the content. Graphic work will be finished once a few missing icons are added and as monsters as added as content finishes. Content will be the main focus here after a day or two (as that is the time needed to fix the rest of the major bugs).
If you enjoy Final Fantasy stop on in and post in the forums with your suggestions to help improve the game or just give your honest opinion. We want to make this game as enjoyable as we can.

I hope it didn't have to come to this. It should be common sense, but here are some rules.
1. I need to be able to actually play the game as with how most guilds/channels operate.
2. The game must be Dragon Warrior/Quest related. I will not accept games not part of this series. Dragon Warrior/Quest Monsters, Slime, Torniko type games are acceptable for the guild. These are part of the series. Dragonball Z, Nurato are not acceptable as they are not part of the series and little to do with DW/Q games but for the same artist as DBZ goes.
3. Rips may be accepted as long as the rip is done respectfully and has the original coders consent if possible. Rips just to be rips or in bad taste will most likely not be accepted.

While only being single player and not having much player interaction other then PvP, this is the only real DWM game to stand out on byond.
Finding a good monster team is the real challenge to the game. May take a while to learn, but the system is fairly easy to use.
Nes graphics with GBC mobs. Looks pretty good with only some polishing needed for mobs.
Not much can be said for originality. Plays like most DWM games did.
Very fun game and worth trying if it's online. The game is no longer in production.

A great DW game for byond that is no longer available.
Has the great DW menu system and is easy to learn like most DW games. Battles play smoothly though my experience was before battle spells/items where added.
Game looks like it should if it was the nes. Most byond DW games do good in presentation. This is no exception.
This game tries to follow the original set up for a DW game released on the nes. One of the 3 byond DW games to not stray far from the system.
Pretty fun game. Too bad it's not in production anymore. It was still in it's shaping up phase.
A fully finished byond remake of the original Dragon Warrior game. Very easy to learn menus and system. Looks just like the original nes game. Losses points for the things that weren't accomplished to nes perfection. Caves work differently and battles are in the complete black background like DW 2,3,4 are.
Being a pretty close clone causes this to lose points in originality. A different cave system and the added bonus dungeon bring some change from the original besides being able to play with your friends.
For fans of the original DW this game is a thrill.

This review is of my own game. The game is just about as user friendly as the other byond DW games. It has a few extra menus that take a little longer to learn then the actual series.
The music and sound effects are a little over the other games, but there are issues with monster sprites. Part is byond limitation and part is errors made in paint.
Like DWO, DWHD plays like an actual DW game. DWHD adds a couple elements that the series didn't have and mixes a few from different areas of the series. Still stays too close the DW formula to be original.
DWHD is a long game with many places to explore. It can be a bit overwhelming to find the next step. Good news is you don't have to go alone in this game. You can recruit mercs to join your team and use them like normal characters. Next to SoE this is one of the longest DW games not only on byond, but in general.

This has a mix of 8bit graphics along with 16 bit monsters. The mix of graphics makes the game looks a little off, but it's constant so it is easy to get used too. Pretty easy to play. Deciding a good class to begin with can make a huge difference on how the game plays. While not as original as most byond DW fan games, this does manage to keep it's feel of the DW series. This causes it to lose originality points, but it gains some from the set up. While it gains some originality points from it's mapping style, it loses some points in presentation for this. The maps are hurried and some are just boring. Dungeons can be on the short side. This is a fun game, but plays more as a single player game. No player parties, but there is PvP.
Currently the game is not hosted and the host files can not be attained. This game seems to be in the byond graveyard for all time.

This review is written mainly for 1.9. While not being completely bug free the game plays pretty smooth. Looks very true to the series. Great DW like battle system. Easy to use command face. Menu/action command cancel command. Just choose what you want to do from the menus and there usually is no more then 8 commands per menu. This game lost points on Originality as most true to series will. The point was not to be original.
This game lost points overall for it's size. Pretty short game. Lost points for the fact it's no longer in production so all issues the game has will remain. I was more impressed with 1.45 even with it's more primitive menus and unpolished system. That version was longer and kept players more busy. That is only my opinion and not used for this review.

While not being as true to the DW/DQ series as other games, SoE brings in a large number of things to do and an old community that enriches the game.
The game may be a bit grindy for some players and isn't solo friendly. It does take help of others to reach the top. Most of the game is played through a bonus dungeon (not really a bonus since you can't beat the final boss without the powers you gain there). Player's gain great power running the bonus dungeon over and over called the Sky Tower (ST).
This is a game for social players that have the patience to get to the point of the best players.

Easy to learn system. Has a few menus that are new to the DW experience. Some music can be annoying. Only a few mobs need worked on. While most byond DW games fail in originality, this is where SoE shines. It may be DW themed with a DW look, but it is it's own game. Quest ideas and layout are all it's own.

Do to money issues I won't be able to pay for next year of membership. Sorry to those that actually download anything from here, but other then that, the guild rarely gets used. So far all byond DW games are headed for doom and it may be a while till a new game appears.
