Your First World

A review for Your First World created by Dantom
Hey, BYOND newbies, look: it's your first world! And it has some pretty funky music!

This is an oldie but goodie. It's not as complex as A Step BYOND (http://www.byond.com/members/ DreamMakers?command=view_post&post=49087). It has five DM files, each of which builds on the last, so you can study them sequentially and see the project taking shape.

Ants376 and cloud105 and anyone else who had the message "due to compilation errors, the object tree cannot be trusted for map generation. These errors must be edited before editing the map", to fix this problem you need to define all the icons you have created (the turfs and mobs) in your code tree before you create a map. Instead of explaining it, I want you guys and ANYONE WHO "WANTS TO CREATE A GAME" to scroll up to the top of this web page, put your mouse on the 'developers' tab and click the guide button. This will give you the information you need to start to learn how to code and create games. It will take a while to learn but if you're persistent you can make a game of your own.

The tree is the files on the left side under the files tab. Its pretty obvious. Im making a game and i had those problem too, but i remade the whole thing and it fixed it. Luckily i wasnt too far into it yet. As of now I am looking for coders and iconners and a hoster. I am having problems with the coding right now. It says there is an error and i dont know what it is. It says it is a bad argument definition.

OK EVERYONE READ THIS B4 COMMENTING!!! TO MAKE A GAME, FIRST DECIDE THE CONCEPT OF THE GAME. PLAN IT CAREFULLY! THEN, BREAK IT DOWN INTO SIZABLE 'CHUNKS' AND PROGRAM, USING BYOND (OR SOMETHING ELSE IF YOU WISH) YOUR GAME IN BIT BY BIT! YOU MAY NEED OTHER PROGRAMS TO HELP SUCH AS AUDACITY/SONY ACID ETC FOR MUSIC AND PHOTOSHOP/GIMP FOR MUSIC. IF YOU HAVE DONE IT CORRECTLY, THIS IS ALL YOU NEED TO MAKE A WORKING GAME. FOR FURTHER REFERENCE, SEE THE 'ZBT' TUTORIALS, ON YOUR RELATED TOPIC.

Hi, i'm currently trying to make a game. However, when i try to create a map, this error thingy pops up saying:
Due to compilation errors, the object tree cannot be trusted for map generation. These errors must be corrected before editing the map? what does it mean?
