Alright so I changed the name. I also switched to Java. Now DMIDE will be cross-platform :). I've been slowly rebuilding everything and since I already know my way around I should have most of what I had done in C# implemented in the new Java version in about a week. I enjoy the new look of DMIDE as well (Java Nimbus theme).
Ugh, am I the only one that can't stand Java and DM these days?

I'm glad I've forgotten most of what I knew about DM, C++ is more more useful for what I've been doing.

That's not relevant to the topic at all but okay :S. C++ is not useful for what I'm doing because of time constraints and I would need to have separate versions of the IDE for each OS and I would have to be on the constant look out for windows specific methods. I decided to save myself the headache.
That looks sexy as hell
Any chance of us being able to help you out code-wise in the future, when you're happy to do so?

I'm happy to accept help at anytime. I just want to implement a couple of things before I put this on SourceForge or Git again.

Actually what I do need is someone who knows Linux better than I do :|, having trouble finding that command line compiler.
I believe Stephen is quite skilled with Linux.
Sorry for my double posting here, but just out of curiosity, when will you release this?

When I have the code editor completely done I'll release it. Then I'll add everything else and update as needed.
Neat. I'm really looking forward to it!

What is this can someone epxlain
This got even more interesting now you're using Java. Good luck and I wish to perhaps contribute when you are open for help. :)

Pretty much, ExPixel is developing a cross platform alternative to the regular Dream Maker IDE.
It's an alternative development environment for DM projects. Tom and Lummox have to focus on working with the actual language itself so the development environment has sort of fallen behind industry standards. With open source (or privately worked on) IDE's the development process can be made easier with features such as line numbering, a better interface for compiling, and just generally become more user friendly. I personally hope he gets the chance to create a javadocs-esque format for DM and allow users to hover over methods to see the description provided by that information. But that would be a lot further down the line.
In before the imaginary number jokes roll in. (They will roll in, right?)

-Smart people jokes

I'm kinda sad that you ditched the C# version, being a .Net guy myself, but it's best that you work in a language you're more comfortable in. Go show Crashed how it's done! =p
