Mitadake Rules
Temp setup. Rules have yet to be fully worked on.
You will notice that most of the time I will have max players set to ten. This is because I can only deal with so many frustrations in one game, and this limits the amount I can possibly have. Yes, this means some people can't play, but it also means I can host without migraines or nosebleeds. Before you bitch and moan about this, refer to rule 12 in the general rules section.
-- Term Definitions --
Role-playing: Playing through a role using your on-screen character as a medium. Also known as 'RP'.
Meta-gaming: Using out-of-character knowledge your character doesn't know.
Random Killing: Killing with no valid reason. Also known as 'RK'.
Random Attacking: Attacking with no valid reason. Also known as 'RA'.
Random Chopping: Chopping down doors with no valid reason. Also known as 'RC'.
Random Searching: Requesting to search people with no valid reason. Also known as 'RS'.
Hoarding: Taking more then one of an item type assuming the item type isn't necessarily an easy to find item. This includes, but is not limited to weapons, keys, and medical supplies.
-- Rules --
General:
1.) You must role play. Your role play must be realistic. You may not meta-game. No in-character info in out-of-character chat.
- This is self explanatory.
2.) You may not randomly kill or attack. You must have a valid reason to attack.
- Saying that your character went crazy is not a valid reason.
3.) No item rushing or hoarding of any kind, weapons, keys, or otherwise.
- Rushing and hoarding is considered a form of meta-gaming, and is considered unfair for other players.
4.) You may not barracade the basement. You may not fuck around with the power unless you have a VALID reason.
- I really shouldn't have to say this, but sadly, I do. Even when I do mention it, it still happens. You will be banned.
5.) Axe + Door = Banhammer to the face.
- Unless there is a valid reason, as always.
6.) Cybering is permitted to a point.
- It's a touchy subject considering the developer banned cybering initially. Do it in private, not in public. I reserve the right to tell people to stop shagging during a round.
7.) Use the damn shift key. Use punctuation as well. Type words out. Don't use smileys.
- Remember, the difference between good grammar habits and bad ones is the difference between "I helped my uncle, Jack, off a horse." and "i helped my uncle jack off a horse".
8.) Do not abuse the announcement system.
- No radio shows. No pointless ramblings. No trying to be funny, yet failing horribly.
9.) Do not abuse spray paint.
- 'Nuff said.
10.) You may defend yourself with an equivilant amount of force, no more.
- This means if someone sprays your eyes, you're not allowed to beat them to death with a nail bat.
11.) Don't argue with me over trivial matters. I have the last word. Period.
- I reserve the right to ban anybody for any reason I see fit. I try to be as just as I can with my bans.
12.) Do not tell me as the host what to do.
- If you tell me to start, reboot, or change to a custom map, I will boot you for the season. I will take gamemode requests into consideration. That is IT.
13.) You may not connect to my external IP more then once.
- As far as I know, while more difficult due to added security measures, this is still possible. Anybody found connecting to my server with multiple keys through a single IP will be banned.
14.) No spamming of any kind.
- This includes, but is not limited to extending your sentances into multiple lines too much, spamming in chat, spamming in watcher chat, push spamming, end-game spamming, and so on.
Normal:
1.) Do not rush to the security room first thing.
- This is included with the "No rushing" rule, but it needs to be said more then once.
2.) Don't just kill mindlessly. Play out your kills.
- This shows how skillful you are at role playing. If you can't play out your kills, we have a problem.
3.) The death note is allowed for use. However, you must follow the death note specific rules along with these ones.
- 'Nuff said.
4.) Use of vents to access the security room are banned. Other uses are allowed.
- This really could be added to rule one, but I decided to make it it's own rule.
Death Note:
1.) You may use the computer. You may not abuse the computer.
- This means you may not copy every name off the list and write it in the death note, among other things.
2.) Do not kill every student on the spot just because you have a deathnote and everyones names.
- This is like rule number two in normal mode. Play out your kills, make things interesting.
3.) You may not lock yourself in the office for extended periods of time.
- Regardless of if you're Kira or not, you have no reason to hide in the office, unless of course you're finding out information on a certain person. This causes major controversy and is unacceptable. There are plenty of other rooms to lock yourself in.
4.) You may not request to search people randomly.
- Your character doesn't know about the death note, thus your character wouldn't be searching for it. End of story. (Thanks to MitushiEchizen)
