Dead Island 2011? in Off Topic

The new Dead Island trailer is pretty awesome. Supposedly the game is coming out this year.
Of course, there are like 4 year old trailers, when the game was supposedly coming out in 2008.
EDIT: This is the info they have posted:
- first-person melee combat
- 4-player coop
- weapon customization
- set on an open world tropical island
- RPG elements for character development
- hordes of gruesome zombies

Hopefully it's a lot more free-roam than Dead Rising 2 (no timer). I'm just glad it's 4 players, but the setting seems iffy.

Is that the zombie survival MMO thing? Seems like a neat idea but zombies have already been played out.

Nah I think it's single player/small party co-op. It is supposedly focusing on the concept of realism in a zombie situation by making you find and use weapons. Kind of like a more serious Dead Rising I guess. Guns are supposed to be extremely few and far in between and ammo is even rarer so you'll have to depend on mostly melee weaponry.

Seems like something they should have done ages ago, but even so... I've been waiting for a game like this. Just wish they'd increase the players to 8 for PS3. Being able to use whatever you can, and board up doors/windows. Fine vehicles, etc... It's possible.
