I thought one point of this new system was to alert fans whenever something was posted on a game that they were a fan of? I don't even get updates about posts on hubs that I own...
Yes, something is off here. It's supposed to be giving you alerts with new posts (up to a certain number, to avoid spam), but I confirmed that it only is happening when the author posts.
Is this fix live? Because I still don't seem to be getting alerts about forum posts on hubs
It should be live. Which hub is giving you problems?
http://www.byond.com/forum/Falacy/HeroesUnited is the only one that has had posts so far
Still not working
This should be all set now.
Is the limit of how many hub posts send alerts based on a total per day? Because I was receiving updates earlier, but the last 5 or so posts haven't alerted me for a specific hub.
It shouldn't be.
The updates seem to be broken again, they were working fine for a while yesterday, but after receiving a lot of posts on the same hub entry, they seem to have just stopped.
This still seems broken. Possibly due to receiving too many posts? What is that limitation based on?
It's supposed to show the last five posts in the general forums of any hubs you've fanned (along with all of the posts you're following or have posted in).
Well, I suppose it may be working how it was designed to then. However, I must not been receiving that many posts from other places, at least 5 posts from HU1 have remained on my homepage. Meaning, I have not received any updates about new topics on it in the past 2 days.

Perhaps you could just add an option to always receive notification? At least about new topics being created, if not about all new posts.
If you never received the update about the new topic, then something is broken there, since at some point it must have been the latest post (and hence in the top five). But I agree that this needs some tweaking. The idea behind the limit is to just keep busy forums from overwhelming your updates.
Oh, well they haven't been the top 5 listing, just 5 scattered along the page, most of them are near the bottom now. Somebody just posted a new topic a few minutes ago and I didn't receive a notification about it. Not to mention the 5 or so others I wasn't made aware of until I looked at the hub.
But if someone just posted a new topic, it should have been at the top of the listings, and you should have received an alert about it. So if I'm understanding it right, we have a bug.
I'm talking about posts like http://www.byond.com/forum/?post=248621; did that ever appear in your updates?
Indeed. I haven't received any notifications about new posts or new topics on the HU1 hub in the last 2 days or so, unless I was already following the topic.
When you say "notifications" do you strictly mean the alerts in the software pager, or also the red atom alerts that put the topic on your update page? And to be clear, did you not receive anything for the link I posted above?

I am not receiving anything. No pager notifications, the red atom isn't spinning, and the topics themselves don't even seem to be showing up on my homepage. When I arrived today, for example, I read through all of the posts marked as new on my homepage. Later, I went to my hub and found that there were several unread topics that I hadn't been alerted about.

I do not believe that it appeared in my updates until I responded to it (now it does).

I just had Teka post something on the hub for me. It did show up on the site, but no pager notification. However, I think this may be due to me "following" most of the hub's posts. Though that could be delusional and irrelevant =P
EDIT: Actually, it seems as though I may have been automatically following that post? I DON'T EVEN KNOW ANYMORE
