Hello all,

With a sad heart, we have to say we are going to close down. It's been a great learning experience offering our time and resources to this community, and we've gotten to know the community a lot better.

It's obvious BYOND needs a great host, and unfortunately, we don't have the time any longer to be a great host, so instead of offering poor service, we decided to close down.

All subscriptions will be ended and the servers shut down on March 1, and prorated refunds will be offered to those who paid ahead. Customers can cancel their service by emailing us at info@farawayhost.com at any time for a prorated refund, but rest assured, things will keep going until March 1. For customers who have a domain name through us, simply contact us and we'll transfer it to you for free to manage directly.

I want to give a big thanks to my partner, Android Data. This service wouldn't have existed at all without him. He created our Hostserver software single-handedly, and managed most server-side issues and things.

I also want to thank the community for being so supportive and keeping us on our toes!

There are a few other hosting services out there. We talked directly with Airjoe of ATPHost and he let us know that he would be happy to help you transfer your games directly to him. We will work with him directly to transfer your games (and if you wish, your paid hosting balance). Bear in mind that his rates differ from ours, so you should visit his website, http://atpdevelopment.com/host/, to decide the best course of action. You can contact him directly at Hosting@ATPDevelopment.com or via pager.

Of course, other service providers may also be happy to assist you in transferring to their service so feel free to shop around!
